From Our Partners In Europe,
"Howdy Folks,
As the season slows down here in Austria & Hungary, and as we slide backwards into another lockdown we wanted to take this time to reflect on a very successful huntings season. The Spring of 2021 started off quite slow with only a handful of folks making it over to us for Roe Deer, Capricalle, & Black Grouse. We once again proved successful on many monster Roe Deer, with a few headed to the books. The Capricalle, & Black Grouse were also very successful for us this May. With us going 100% Success on what is a very challenging and enjoyable hunt. As the summer finally heated up, after a cold start, we had much work at hand preparing for what would end up being a quite full Fall calendar.
The year long lull in Hunters meant that many of our areas had not felt much pressure in the past season, with the trophy quality & quantity on the season reflected in that fact. The first few months were full of successful hunters, with very high quality trophies. A particularly enjoyable group joined us from a Safari Club Chapter in the states, with Wives & Daughters enjoying what was a memorable trip for all. The month of October brought us another full schedule of folks from all over. We were successful on what will prove to be some of the biggest Mouflon taken in Austria. Fallow Deer & Red Stag were also very nice this year, with our free range areas also producing in a big way.
As the leaves began to fall we switched into Driven Hunt mode, & broke out the bar trailer for what is proving to be a busy Driven Hunt season. It all started with a wonderful pheasant hunt in Northern Hungary where our Castle stay was spectacularly hosted, & the Pheasants Flew High like in Britain. We followed this up with a few very successful Driven Duck Hunts, as well as a few days hunting behind the dogs. Driven Boar was unlike any season we had before, with Wild Boars being the biggest beneficiary of the year off. The size & amount of Boars had all of us pleasantly surprised. For us 2021 was a season to Remember hot off the heals of one to forget.
As we make our preparations for this years coming shows, we hope that each and everyone of you will stop by the booth. Whether to BS, Book, or nick a Beer, we love this time of the year. Over the years we have made so many friends and after a long year away we look forwards to making up for lost time.
We will be at Dallas Safari Club, Safari Club International, Western Conservation Show, Alaska Safari Club Chapter Show, & a few more.
As always if you or anyone you may know would like to join us for a hunting adventure please contact us, 2022 will hopefully be as good as our last 70 years, but it is only possible with the help of our friends.
-From all of us at FN Hunting we wish you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
