Hung this old sword blade up next to the garden gate when we were moving our stuff here. It brings me many memories.
One is of my good buddy Beau who I used to do live steel sword fighting with for the entertainment and education of others. We crafted many historical items together, built armor, repaired and smithed weapons including some blades I still own. I could see him saying the second quote to me with a smile while bashing his sword against his shield before charging the field.
It also reminds me of being very poor and homeless as a kid, sometimes with very little to eat. We would get some meals from a place in Ukiah called "Plowshares" that fed those in need, and where I learned the first quote below. I think about those days, and how important good food is every time I am working in my garden.

My new shop space has ridiculous amounts of air flow!!! Bahahaha And I literally a mechanic under a shade tree. Whewww!!
Finally got some time to give the #501 some much needed love before getting to go for a nice ride tomorrow. Tire swap, oil swap, bar clamp swap. Still need some parts and to extract a broken bolt to get my damn kickstand back on. She's gonna need something to lean on for now. Hahaha

We have a good amount of things going on right now, all the usuals and a little more. But we had little time to clean up more of the garden space for some of our other favorites to grow.
So much to do, and only so much sun light to do it in!! Haha

This weekend we got our trailer moved into it's intended location.. and hooked back up to water and the luxury of septic hooked up too!! Today's project is getting my solar panels up onto the garden shed roof, and wired up into the little power shed I built to hold some of 's spare electronics that keep our trailer's 12v system charged and supply some 120v "shore power" as well. Thanks to the for all the !!! PG&E can suck a fat one!!! Hahaha

Have not had time lately to ride as much as I normally do... but took some time today to ride around the ranch roads, follow a deer trail or two, and even a little free riding through the woods, with a stop by the creek of course.

We have moved out of the Ice Chest age... And now have a working fridge and freezer!!
I spent a good part of yesterday pulling out and rebuilding this unit and giving it a brand new cooling system. Two way, runs on LP Gas ( ) or 120v AC. Like magic (chemistry really) it uses fire to get 33°f in the fridge and 0°f in the freezer. Neat!
Ok, I'm off to the next project!!! (Any guesses?)

Going back through some pics and thought I should post about JUST HOW LUCKY I was with my axle blowing up and loss of a wheel at 55 mph and towing a cargo trailer...
It took awhile, but eventually came to a stop with the axle just a couple inches left inside the housing... And the other end balancing on the brake drum of the wheel. There was nothing connecting either side to anything. That axle shaft spun and sheered on the wheel side, no clue what came apart in the dif side... and the heat that was in the hub shows in its crazy discoloration.
I felt the whole thing was such BAD luck (the costs are gonna be the suck for sure, and it has really slowed our move)... But looking at these points there was definitely some GOOD luck involved as it happened once back to flatland and no one was hurt!! I can't imagine dealing with that going down a curvy arse mountain grade and bouncing off rails and barriers til it stopped. WHEW.

Can't run my big stereo off house batteries (yet)... So this little guy from my childhood comes back into use. 4x AA batteries, Solar power and battery charging... Even a dynamo hand crank. Pulls in all sorts of frequencies. I used to listen to TV shows while exploring the mountains as a kid. If only they also had MP3 players and SD cards back then, it would be complete!!! Hahaha

She is a very happy puppo. The bestest of good girls.

She thinks she is much more helpful than she actually is. No, I don't need more kisses and hugs while trying to wrench this bit. Worse than a toddler cause she's twice the size at least, and can't hand me tools!! Hahaha
That Shinko tire lasted like 4 rides before it self destructed and started shredding k***s and sending em flying off at interesting times. Only a few hundred miles on it. Putting another one of those Hybrid Recons on there. Good value from those so far since my favorite
Mountain Hybrid are skyrocket prices now a days.
