Maybe Another Chance of Rain?

It looks like Thursday we could see an isolated shower or two. It will not be much, but I guess we will take what we can get... As far as the rest of the week, cooler this weekend, then a warm front lifting in will bump us back into the upper 70s to near 80° by Tuesday. Plenty of sunshine.

A Little Bit of Back and Forth

Tomorrow and Thursday we will not be feeling very "End of October Like" with highs topping out in the upper 70s and low 80s. The warm conditions won't stick around for long though, on Friday a cold front will move through and give us a tiny chance for some scattered showers and some cooler weather for the weekend. Next week starts off very seasonable followed by another warm up mid-week.

More Warm Weather on the Way

More warm air will be rolling in by midweek and that will push highs up towards 80° by Halloween. We continue to stay dry and mostly sunny for the remainder of the week. Some clouds will gradually return by midweek as temperatures warm up, only because winds will be out of the south ushering in more humidity and warmer air. But yet still no rain...

Welcome to the temperature rollercoaster! Please keep all arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times. So far this week has been warm, with highs a good 15-20 degrees above normal. Tomorrow, we'll be back to normal, with highs settling in the mid-60s. Well cool down even more for this weekend and the start of next week, followed by another round of warmer weather.

A Quick Cold Snap

This weekend we traveled back in time to Septemeber where the highs topped out in the upper 70s, today we're back into the 60s and where we're suppose to be for the second week of October. Tomorrow we fast forward to November. A bubble of cooler air is working its way towards our area and will arrive overnight tonight. Tomorrow and Wednesday highs will stay in the 50s.

Northern Lights Possible Tonight! (10p-3a)

The Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, are created when charged particles from the Sun (solar wind) collide with gases in Earth's atmosphere, like oxygen and nitrogen. These collisions release energy in the form of colorful light displays, usually seen near the polar regions. The Earth's magnetic field directs these particles toward the poles, where they interact with the atmosphere.

The KP index measures geomagnetic activity, ranging from 0 to 9. A higher KP index (usually 5 or above) indicates stronger geomagnetic activity, meaning the Northern Lights are likely visible farther from the poles, even at lower latitudes.

We are expecting a KP index in the 8s. When we get to 7, lights are possible in our neck of the woods...so I like our chances. Skies will be clear!
