Since then, both Sarah, herself... and her niece, were diagnosed with T1D and she asked me to redesign the logo for this year's Breakthrough T1D Walk to incorporate the new "teammates" in this fight. I saw a scene in Kentucky when we were driving back from Florida and I wanted to try to replicate in a drawing… a railroad bridge over the highway. And had to add my hiking touch to it with a trail on the left. Looking forward to colorizing this one to see how it turns out.

I just finished publishing a book for author, Larry E. Reed. Reed is a veteran of the Vietnam War and wrote a collection of thoughts and stories regarding his time in the Vietnam, his childhood and his time post-war after being honorably discharged due to an injury. The book is probably most suited for those who have gone through similar experiences, as there are a lot of references from the Army and war. But I found much of what I've read very interesting.

I just finished designing and publishing a children’s book for author Kenneth R. Stock, who lives in Wales, Wisconsin. The amazing thing I learned about Ken is that he is colorblind and yet drew these amazing, vibrant images for this book. At a young age, he started memorizing the names of colors in his box of crayons and now uses those names of colors with his drawing mediums to accurately apply color to what he draws. I felt this was such an inspirational and interesting tidbit for both kids and adults to learn about overcoming obstacles. Someone contacted me to design an ultralight titanium camping mug for a hiker who will be attempting a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail starting in April. The hiker calls herself the “world’s okayest hiker” so my customer wanted to surprise her with this as she leaves for her journey. I’ll share more about the hiker after she’s received the gift. 🥾
