Last eve I passed beside a blacksmith's door
And heard the anvil ring the vesper chime;
When looking in, I saw upon the floor,
Old hammers worn with beating years of time.

"How many anvils have you had," said I,
"To wear and batter these hammers so?"
"Just one," said he; then with a twinkling eye,
"The anvil wears the hammers out, you know."

And so, I thought, the anvil of God's Word,
For ages, skeptics blows have beat upon;
Yet, though the noise of falling blows was heard,
The anvil is unharmed - the hammers gone.

God sent me in the other direction to avoid danger. God cancelled my plans to save my life. He fights battles I know nothing about. His plan is better than my plan. God is good and I am faithful.

Sometimes life feels really hard… our ranch has faced enormous loss these past few weeks.
On June 25, 2024 I suffered another sudden and unexpected loss… my amazing miniature therapy horse Ellie. She was pure joy and shared her heart with so many… young and old.
Thank you Shades of Blue Ranch Miniature Therapy Horses for the blessing of Ellie.
She may be gone but her spirit inspires me to keep moving forward with hope, grace, strength, courage and compassion! ❤️

Those ears know my secrets…
They know what makes my heart sing and my mind free.
They know my worst fears and deepest regrets.
They know my quiet ambitions and my wildest dreams.
I’ve found peace and comfort through those ears,
Lived some of my best and worst moments through those ears,
Made life changing decisions through those very ears.
I’ve spent a large part of my life looking through a pair of ears…
And I’ll never get bored of the view!

On May 31, 2024 I said my final goodbye to my heart horse, Lizzy. Our time together was the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.
Over the past seven years, our journey created so many incredible shared memories for so many people. Words can’t describe how I miss you…you’ll always be in my heart.
Thank you, Lizzy. I love you!
