Mossel Bay was first named Bahia or Aguada de Sao Bras (Bay or Watering Place of Saint Blaize) by Bartholomeu Dias in 1488. His fleet arrived in Mossel Bay on 3 February 1488.
It was, however, the Dutch navigator, Paulus van Caerden, that named the Bay "Mosselbaai" during 1601, when he could not find any refreshments besides mussels there.

Mossel Bay is renown for its breathtaking views... The glistening, calm ocean and the beautiful sunsets 😀 Make your way around the beautiful walking route around the Point to see the finest views ☺️ While you enjoy the sounds of the waves, keep your eyes open for the beautiful sandcastles situated on the beach. They are a sight not to be missed 😄

is basically located on the beach front just a wee walk to the paddle pool & surfing mecca in - about 30 meters to be more precise. The area offers wonderful walking trails and scenery with super swimming areas allocated, including the 'sloep' as locals know it where you can eye the amazing new which fast became a global attraction!
