Reading comprehension is the heart and goal of reading since the purpose of all reading is to gather meaning from text. It is assumed that reading fluency and comprehension go hand in hand. But three to ten percent of good readers actually don’t understand most of what they’re reading. There may be other causes, but these are the most common causes of a reading comprehension problem.
