Well folks! Another years event done and dusted, as there are always a few fundraisers who ask us to keep things open for a few weeks after our event. Numbers were down a bit with participants this year, though we know a lot going on in D-Town at the moment. But we salute everyone’s efforts! Just at a function this evening as long time Territorian Don Lockley was present with the 2023 Max Gardiner award, which recognises all of Don’s efforts with assisting Prosper, the local Prostate Cancer Support group here in the NT, not just in Darwin but up and down the highway, giving council and direction to blokes and their families through their Prostate cancer journey, which he also went through years back. Epic bloke, with his boundless enthusiasm and optimism. Still going strong & doing his frequent drives down to Katherine.. I hope many of us are also as spirit key at 92! It’s legendary volunteers like Don who put people at ease and help put people in the right direction! Congratulations Don, as we salute you mate!

Trying to explain to an engineering friend that here Big Bore project likely isn’t going to be suitable for the asphalt of the route we are taking for this years but she just wasn’t having it and then proceed to detail the wear measurement and tolerance reports of the components attempting to validate that it’s all going to be alright….
