The Sculpture Park at Pt. Leo Estate, Mornington Peninsula.

Come visit us in Melbourne!

"Unlike other Australian sculpture parks accessible to members of the public, Pt. Leo Estate Sculpture Park includes works by major international as well as major Australian artists. This impressive roll call includes KAWS, George Rickey, Tony Cragg, Inge King, Boaz Vaadia, Tomnakatsu Matsuyama, Barry Flanagan, Julian Opie, Bruce Armstrong and Lenton Parr. Each work has an explanatory plaque giving details on the artist, a succinct account of their career and a short statement about the significance of the work itself".

Mona is a museum in Hobart, Tasmania, created by David Walsh to help him (in his words) ‘bang above [his] weight’. Anything we say to describe Mona will date quickly, given we are constantly changing our mind about what Mona is. Possibilities include:

David’s fitness marker: think of him as a peacock and his paintings as his feathers.*
Sea World, with cocktails, and a few works of quite-good-but-not-amazing Australian modernism;
A place to tie the knot, and push up the daisies;
Purveyor of hot chippies (among other culinary delights);
Somewhere people can come to say ‘not sure about the art but the architecture is amazing’;
Nice spot to listen to some live music;
A really elaborate marketing stunt;
A really expensive kitchen garden.
*We used to have a boy peacock at the museum but it kept attacking blue cars. It’s not at Mona anymore; it’s gone to live on a lovely farm.

💦 It's one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Australia - Punamii-Uunpuu, or Mitchell Falls, is an iconic Kimberley landmark with its four tiers carved through sandstone by the waters of the Mitchell River, producing layers of mesmerising emerald water pools from which the waters tumble one to the next.

IG/hugowalton spotted this curious local striking a pose at in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park in Discover Tasmania's North West. Home to some of Tassie's most renowned walking trails, it’s no surprise that even the resident wombats like to make the most of them!
