For a very different type of African view, check in to a safari camp where you can observe the local wildlife as you float in the pool. Stay at this tranquil riverside location on the edge of Lower Zambezi National Park. The views are enhanced by a communal pool, private plunge pools and open-air soaking tubs that insert themselves seamlessly into the camp’s low-impact design. Another fave resort in Mauritius with a fulsome family friendly vibe is an easy win for those who wish to have one of the easiest multi-generational trips to Mauritius. A central swimming pool provides all day entertainment, while generous lines of sun loungers face the aquamarine sea, with easy pitstops at the ice cream bar. The kids club caters for children from three years’ old, with soft play slides, interactive floor games and daily activities including gardening, yoga and swimming clinic.

While the buffet is a feast of plenty – from the juice station at breakfast loaded with ginger, celery, beetroot and all the freshest fruits, to the noodle chefs whipping up chilli-flecked peaks and the child-high food stations – there are some stand out restaurants here that are destinations in their own right. This is not a place to come and discover the local flavours but you should base yourself here for a pounding Balinese massage, sundowners at the bar or a flip and flop relatively wallet-friendly family resort!

Here are just 3 stops of many on our “Deserts of Rajasthan and spiritual Varanasi” women’s Wellness journey in January ……Jaisalmer, Manvar and Varanasi!

The city of Jaisalmer is a seductive outpost in the desert that seems to
come out from a tale of the Arabian Nights, with its stone bastions that
surround the medieval fort. Jaisalmer was established in the 12th century by
the Rajput king Rawal Jaisal, a fortress town rising from the sands of the
Thar Desert of Rajasthan.
Jaisalmer is nicknamed as the "Golden City". The glorious age of the city dates back to the time
when many caravans crossed the desert and stopped here.
The real soul of the city is the Fort (dating back to the XIlI century, the
most ancient of Rajasthan) whose perimeter is marked by 99 bastions.

MANVAR
Amidst the wilderness and surrounded by sand dunes galore, is the splendour
that is the MANVĀR Sevan, the Desert Camp. Ephemeral beauty lies all around you. With stunning sunrises, mesmerizing sunsets and dazzling night skies,
life in this peaceful wilderness is spectacularly elemental and
extraordinarily silent. MANVĀR Sevan
consists of 30 colourfully decorated, luxury safari-style tents arranged in a
semi-circle around a central ‘Durbar Hall’. Dinner and a
cultural show is enjoyed under the stars.

VARANASI
Varanasi, India's Holiest City is the spiritual capital of India.
Varanasi is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. It was one of the first major urban settlements in the middle Ganges valley. By the 2nd millennium BCE Varanasi was a seat of Vedic religion and philosophy and was also a commercial and industrial centre famous for its muslin and silk fabrics, perfumes, ivory works, and sculpture. It was the capital of the kingdom of Kashi during the time of the Buddha (6th century BCE), who gave his first sermon nearby at Sarnath.
Hindus believe that one who is graced to die on the land of Varanasi would attain salvation and freedom from the cycle of birth and re-birth.

The river crossings in the Serengeti are legendary as crocodiles lie in wait for the herds to brave the water. The best time to see these dramatic events in the Serengeti is between July and October, although this also brings the greatest numbers of visitors to the region. At this incredible new mobile camp in the Serengeti, we do our best to get you as close as we can to the action, while still enjoying a safari experience away from the crowds. Lucky visitors may get to see the mega-herds crossing the Mara River, but watching a splinter herd crossing a narrow channel can be just as, if not more, rewarding. This is also a great time to combine a trip to the Serengeti with a gorilla trekking experience in Rwanda – the ultimate East African safari experience.

If you want to see elephants in huge numbers, then the Linyanti Reserve is the place to be towards the end of the dry season. Botswana is home to Africa’s highest concentration of elephants, over 130,000, and the Linyanti is known for hosting the world’s largest mega-herds, traversing ancient corridors through the reserve on their migratory routes, which pass right by our camps. This is Chobe without the crowds, and one of our greatest private reserves in Botswana.
