Get ready to cheer for Kaori Niwa, the trailblazing Japanese sensation, as she takes on the legendary Snowman Race!

Kaori Niwa, trail runner who loves ultra-distance and a tough course profile. Kaori loves mountains, animals, and nature, which fuels her passion for trail running, hiking, and backcountry skiing. To help preserve these, she saves electricity, runs or cycles instead of driving, minimizes flights, eliminates food waste, and practices reducing, reusing, repairing, and recycling.

Hailing from Japan, Kaori appreciates its rich natural beauty but is also aware of its frequent natural disasters. She believes ignoring climate change leads to severe consequences and that everyone must take action, no matter how small, to protect the environment. Kaori enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and dog. She started trail running in 2012 and became a professional runner in 2017. She’s placed 8th in UTMB in 2016 and 4th in 2017. She is the only Japanese female runner who has been on the podium of UTMB so far. She also enjoy climbing and backcountry skiing.
she has run Everest 135 miles in May this year. It goes up to 5500 m high.

Kaori is an all-round athlete – she used to compete in dressage (horse riding), and in addition to running she is an excellent ski mountaineer. Known for her remarkable achievements in ultra-distance trail running, including podium finishes at UTMB and a stellar performance at the Everest 135 miles, Kaori is set to conquer the challenging terrain and extreme altitudes of the Snowman Race. With her unmatched determination and versatility in sports, including climbing and backcountry skiing, Kaori embodies the spirit of adventure and athletic excellence.
