🇧🇹 Paro Dzong 🇧🇹
Also known as Rinchen Pung Dzong or Rinpung Dzong - “the Fortress of the Heap of Jewels” 💎

This beautiful Bhutanese architecture was built in 1645. The Dzong has survived a massive earthquake in 1897 and was severely damaged by fire in 1907. It was then repaired to its original state.

Paro Dzong is visible throughout Paro valley. It’s usually the first thing that caught visitors’ eyes when they approach Paro town ⛰

Have you noticed the building in the back? It was the ancient Ta-dzong (watchtower) renovated into the National Museum of Bhutan in 1968.
