The Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition (held the third time at the National Memorial Chorten from 4-11 June 2017 this year) was instituted to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen. A classic Bhutanese meal consists of red rice, one or two dishes of meat or vegetables and Ema Datshi, the national dish of Bhutan made of chilli pepper (ema) and cheese (datshi). Chillies are an essential ingredient in Bhutanese cuisines, a meal is never complete without it!

A joyous celebration in Trongsa.
Happy 109th Bhutan National Day!

The sky is brilliantly blue and spotless, the venue is resplendent with decorations, thousands of people have been pouring in since the early hours of the morning, dressed in their finest.

We all await with bated breath the arrival of His Majesty The King, and to begin this historic celebration of our 109th National Day in Trongsa.

10 years ago, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wamgchuk took over the leadership and responsibility to become the fifth Druk Gyalpo of Bhutan.
Looking back at His Majesty's Coronation Address, we have once again been moved. It has reminded us how fortunate we are to be able to enjoy continuous peace and progress from His Majesty's dedication and wise leadership.

Overnight camp in Drukpath Trek, one of the most popular and moderately easy hikes in Bhutan. It offers hikers stunning views of Mt. Gangkar Puensum, the highest unscaled peak in the world. The best times to hike are between Mar-Jun or Sep-Nov.
