Meet our Garswood dragon! #ChineseNewYear2024
At Eden House we have been enjoying our Winter Illumination Trail around the garden. Thanks to all the volunteers and maintenance team who worked hard to set it up and thank you to all those who visited and walked around. Old and young alike were mesmerised by the trail, some even enjoyed hot chocolate and marshmallows by a campfire as well!
We are well blessed at Newton court with the beach being only a stones throw away! We wrapped up well and braced ourselves for an outing to Caswell Bay. Richard and Ione had fun exploring the beach riding in all-terrain wheelchairs! It was sheltered behind the cafe, so we all enjoyed our hot drinks in the fresh outdoors, looking out to sea. Very grateful to all those who helped out 😊
We played a more civilised type of bowling at Eden house😉some carpet bowls this week, lots of residents enjoyed trying to get closet to the jack. Unfortunately I didn't get any videos of any particularly close bowls but we did improve as we went along! Having two massive pillars in the way didn't help!
We took the residents of Garswood ten pin bowling 🎳 Rita, Mabel and Jean were our winners all scoring 85 points 🥳 🎳
Yesterday we made the most of the beautiful weather enjoying a glass of Pimms and a bowl of strawberries, whilst watching some action on the tennis court. We have some talented players & ball girls here at Newton Court and a very enthusiastic audience! It was lovely to have such a good number of residents and tenants outside under the blue summer skies.
With Silverstone happening this weekend, at Eden House, we were in the mood for racing. Residents, staff and visitors all had a turn around our version of the Silverstone track with classic corners such as 'Becketts, Stowe and Copes'. Needless to say there were some underhand tactics, as seen at the end of this video, which only heightened the rivalries! Thanks to Bro Derek Vyse for the use of some of his remote control cars.
At Olivet recently our dear Bro Norman serenaded Oak Lounge with a rendition of ‘My heart and I’. Thank you Bro Norman for all you do to entertain our lovely residents.
At Garswood, our competitive spirit has come out as the residents and staff all joined in to reach the target of walking 1141 miles for the Memory Walk!
Staff have got their families involved and encouraged them go for extra walks! We love this sense of family, a value we cherish at Christadelphian Care Homes.
There’s still time to donate as we get closer to hitting our target - https://www.justgiving.com/page/cchmemorywalk
At Garswood, we’ve been making the most of the sunshine and trying to get as many steps as possible for the Memory Walk ☀️👣
The staff and residents have all got involved in walking extra miles, some getting their families involved too! It shows a wonderful sense of family, which we value at Christadelphian Care Homes.
