It’s nearly bramble picking season, for guests who are arriving over the next few weeks please ask us where they are around the farm as there are plenty this year! Sloes are coming too and I can vouch for how good the bramble gin and sloe gin that we made last year was!
… bramble and apple pie also goes down well with the Yorkshireman! 😂

How to paint a cottage with the assistance of a tractor…. As always I’m the one on the forks but then I don’t have the necessary driving/operating skills to get it into such tight spaces!!

The sun is finally shining in Devon!

For many reasons we were not able to accept holiday requests until now but we opened our doors last weekend for our first visitors who had a lovely time on the farm and around the area.

This year will be different as Brenda will not be here. Sadly she passed away last month after a short illness, she was a huge part of the farm and is missed very much.

I have now taken on the baking of the scones and Rick will be taking people round to feed the animals.

Please feel free to make enquiries or book through Travel Chapter.

Look forward to seeing those of you who have visited before or anyone who is new to the farm.

We will start posting again now we are open.

Thank you.

We’ve been shearing for the last couple of days and so grateful to have had such fantastic guys come in. Start to finish less than 2 mins a sheep, so long as we could stop them escaping!
Now…. can we interest anyone in some daggings, great for the garden as slow release fertiliser…

It’s such a hard life being a cat on the farm, lazing in the beautiful Devon weather. It’s been glorious for a while and looks like it’s staying that way for the foreseeable.

Spring is nearly on its way. Our Devon and Cornwall longwools have finished lambing and it’s only a few weeks until the main flock start. If you have ever wanted to see new born lambs then the best time would be early Apr when the fields will be full of them all bouncing around. They will be around for a while but most energetic when young, weren’t we all!
If anyone is interested in coming to stay then contact Rick or I on 01288 371086 or bookings can be made via holiday cottages.
