Something very exciting for us will be happening over the weekend! Which means that all of our weekend dates for 2024 & 2025 are likely to sell out.

We have to keep tightlipped about it for now, but we will be revealing everything over the weekend.

We already experience in a huge increase in numbers for 2025. And we are currently sold out of January and February weekends already. March is almost sold out as is April 2025.

How come I know so much about Hen Party planning?

Well I have planned over 400. Hen Parties here at my multi award-winning Georgian mansion holiday home in West Yorkshire.

We have hosted so many lovely brides and bridesmaids, we specialise in luxury Hen Partys, girls get away weekends, celebration stays and wellness retreats.

We know what starts as a really exciting journey of planning a wonderful Hen Party can often turn into a logistical nightmare. Friends falling out, Dates been cancelled and people dropping out.

The worst thing that we experience was the Hen Party which started out of 16 people and ended up with only six of them, turning up! It was heartbreaking, and it really affected the whole wedding.

I would recommend setting the intention right from the start. To do this I would not recommend asking the whole group on the WhatsApp chat what they want to do and what dates suit them. Treat the hen party is any other important celebration and do not ask your Guests to input any of their own ideas.

Traditionally, it will be the bridesmaids/maid of honour who will do the planning. I really think it’s important to let the bride get on with the wedding and not be too involved in the Hen Party , especially all the back and forth between the guests. It can be stressful , and emotional, so keep the bride away from the planning. Ask the bride what her ideal weekend would consist of, and then get on with Planning it.

Finding the perfect venue is probably the most important part, if you’ve got a beautiful home with some great activities in a central location you’re onto a winner.

Only choose houses that are highly recommend. Ask your friends who have recently done a Hen Party, only book a house that has got five star reviews. Ideally book direct with the owner for the best price and avoid the big cheesy “celebration party house” chains. They’re often great photographs but substandard properties once you get there!!!

once you found a date that suits the bride and the main bridal party and family put the date out the rest of the group. Don’t let any of the guests get you to try and change the date to suit them stick to your guns.

If you haven’t already heard, we are famous for our Christmas reward stays here at Norfolk House, in Yorkshire. Especially with female teams, in the beauty and bridal industry.

If you and your team have worked super hard this year and deserve a great break either before or after Christmas we have now launched our Christmas rewards stays.

So much love and energy and effort goes into planning the perfect Hen Party. As a rule most people book 12 months in advance and there is hundreds of communications between us and the guest from first communication through to departure.

If you have been given the honour of planning the perfect Hen Party for your Bestie don’t panic it is tricky but it doesn’t have to be impossible.

We can hold your hand all the way through and give you tips and advice on how to remove elements of stress and pain points during your Hen Party journey.

My top tip is to book early. It really does take some stress away. It means that you will ideally get the dates that you want, you’ll have better availability for your guests, hopefully everybody’s diaries wont be already be full, it will give you time to spread the cost, don’t forget to delegate 👩‍👧‍👧everybody loves to get involved so make use of this and give people small tasks to do such as games or baking a cake!

Don’t forget to add some down time, you don’t need to be doing organised activities for the whole weekend.

What a beautiful house to share with friends and family!
Charlottle was amazing with organising and answer any question we might have had. Communication was strong and eveything was explained perfectly. We had eveything a Hen Party Weekend could wish for, Karaoke, Hot Tub, Huge kitchen, Cosy living room and Comfy beds. Would recommend to any future people looking to book a Gorgeous venue to celebrate a Miss becoming a Mrs.

Wow! The perfect weekend, host and House!

Charlotte took the stress and worry out of planning the perfect Hen - Do for a special friend. We were on the hunt for a stay at a beautiful house, large enough for 16 people, with a touch of class and elegance. We found that in Norfolk House!
From the start, the communication was incredible and provided ideas & activities for the weekend which our hens absolutely loved!
The whole process was smooth and easy, which meant as the organiser I too could enjoy the weekend.
Little touches such as being able to arrive with the food shop I had ordered already put away and Decorations in our Brides room organised by Charlotte really made the weekend feel very special.

We didn’t need to leave the house once (and you really wouldn’t want too- it had everything you need). From relaxing spa morning on the Saturday, to disco and Kareoke fun in the evening!

Can’t reccomend Norfolk house and Charlotte enough! Already thinking of an opportunity to come back.

My event planning journey began in 2016 when I was looking to host my birthday in a large holiday home and really struggled to find something quality, with stunning decor and large enough to host a group of discerning friends for a luxury soirée. we have been providing this beautiful Georgian mansion house for luxury staycations, Hen Do weekends, wellness stays a milestone birthdays since 2016.

The modern Hen Party is made up of friends & family who are generally scattered around the country, so picking a central location like West Yorkshire with fantastic road and rail links is always a good idea. Of course you can still bring w***y straws to Norfolk House for your hen party…but pls be mindful of one use plastic which has been shipped from China.

There are 250k hen parties a year in the UK alone.

Straws come in box of 20s so that potential 5 million p***s straws in Uk alone!

You may be surprised to find that not only do these end up in the bin, but often they are not even opened and put in the bin at the end of a hen party weekend here at Norfolk House in Yorkshire.

We have a dress up box and a party draw so please, rather than through things in the bin. Add it to our Dress Up Box and then at least somebody else can make use of it.

Looking back on some of our previous reviews always brings us joy & shows how far we’ve come! Always grateful for fantastic feedback.

We also do really appreciate constructive criticism … a couple of weeks ago. One of the guests informed us that one of the beds was so squeaky it kept them awake at night. We had no idea this was happening, so we’re really appreciative that they let us know. It was a simple fix, tightening up the screws and now the bed no longer squeaks. 🐭

Please note that we’ve now released a new weekend date for September.

We are welcoming bookings for 2025 already, the calendar is getting booked up quite quickly now.

We require either a holding fee of £200 to confirm your stay for a deposit of £50 per person.

We can sleep from 10 to 21 people and can also enhance your stay with our bespoke activities.

Prices range from £220- £260 per person for a two night weekend.

I currently have a special offer of the bride stays for free for December/January/February weekends.

If you are a smaller group, then I would recommend booking a Sunday/Monday or Mid Week with us Prices start at £180 per person.

We have one weekend in August and a handful in September.

This is Rich and Sheila, mother and son taken 2019. Rich contacted me last summer and asked whether he and his mum could come and visit Norfolk House for afternoon tea. He explained that him and his mum lived in Norfolk House during the 70s and 80s. This was Rich’s first home (swipe you will see the picture of Rich as a baby with his mum holding him standing at the bottom of the stairs over 50 years ago)

Sheila had not been in good health and Rich wanted to make her birthday special. They had precious memories of their time living in the house when Sheila was running the house as a Temperance Hall, she also facilitated the renting of the rooms to different groups such as brownies and guides, church groups, piano lessons, drama classes, group meetings and general room hire.

The family still lived in Huddersfield and Rich had spotted us on social media and showed his mum. She was really keen to come and have a look at the home in which she raised her son.

We were absolutely delighted to find out more history about the house, so we invited them for the afternoon for a tour of the house and afternoon tea in the garden.

It was absolutely fascinating to hear how the house had changed since the 70s/80s. Where our kitchen is now was just a dark and dingy basement, and the attic just a pokey dark room at the top of the stairs. The house had been carved up into lots of different areas including a self-contained flat where Sheila and Rich lived. Rich’s bedroom when he lived here was in the bathroom above the front door, and the green room was a living room and the bathroom in the green room was the kitchen.

Sadly Rich got in touch to say that his mum had passed away. He wanted to say a massive thank you to us for letting his mum come back and see her old home. It meant a lot to his mum and we were so happy that we got the chance to hear about all the interesting bits of history regarding the house and obviously meet the lovely Sheila.
