Citizens Advice Brent helps people to resolve their money, legal and other problems by providing free, independent, confidential and impartial advice regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances.
We are an independent charity and a member of Citizens Advice, one of the UK’s largest voluntary organisations. We have a track record of practical commitment to diversity, promoting equality and challenging discrimination. Citizens Advice Brent is equally committed to maintaining quality standards, innovation and developing services that meet the needs and preferences of the local community. We currently deliver at 17 different locations in the London Borough of Brent. We work with a wide range of partners and actively look for more, so we can meet the needs of many diverse groups – from refugees and asylums seekers to people suffering from mental stress, from families with young children to council and housing association tenants.
Like all Citizens Advice offices, we rely on the talents and dedication of our volunteers to deliver a quality service, both in engaging face to face with clients and in helping keep the bureau running smoothly. Volunteering for Citizens Advice Brent is a rewarding experience in many ways; we’ve seen it be
a good gap year experience for a 23 year old student
a way of returning to the workforce for a 38 year old mother
a way to use existing work skills and enjoy working in a team for a 70 year old retired engineer
for our Trustee Board members of all ages, a way of using skills and experience in an alternative environment.
