The Regents canal opened in 1820 linking the Grand Union canal at Little Venice and the River Thames at Limehouse, providing an important industrial transport route.
Today, the canal is a leisurely corridor through London, navigated by leisure boats and lined with live aboard houseboats.
Our route travels between picturesque Little Venice and vibrant Camden Lock -where you’ll find the world-famous CAMDEN MARKET and the new Buck Street Market with it’s eco - ethos, housed in repurposed shipping containers. We pass through Regent’s Park, the grounds of ZSL LONDON ZOO and through the echoey depths of the 249 metre Maida Hill tunnel.
Started as the British Waterways zoo waterbus in 1958, and operating as London Waterbus since 1981, our fleet of historic traditional narrow boat waterbuses have windows throughout, so that everyone gets a view, these also slide open for ventilation.
