Music Miles is a new fund-raising project designed to galvanise the independent music community into raising money for British children’s charities. The idea is simple: musicians, DJs, singers, MC’s and music industry professionals run one of the world’s major marathons and in the process combine their efforts and resources, both professional and personal to raise money for charity. for a needy cause in the process makes all the hard work even more worthwhile. In our inaugural year we have chosen to run the Berlin Marathon on September 25th 2011. Berlin is one of the world’s five major marathons with around 40,000 runners taking part each year. Having run it myself I can promise you its an incredible experience and a fairly flat course to boot, making it that little bit easier to manage! The time of year means the weather is nice and mild and the training takes place over the summer. If you have ever thought about running a marathon, even for a split second, then now is the time!
