The Christmas season can be hard for people trying to conceive, from navigating the flurry of social media updates to fending off questions from friends and family.

🎄Make sure you look after yourself and set some boundaries if you know this can be a difficult time for you.

🤳Social media isn’t a real reflection of people’s lives. Mute Instagram accounts if you want to stop seeing family-related content for a while.

🥂When it comes to real-life encounters, remember that you don’t owe answers or a smile when someone oversteps with a private question. It’s OK to not want to discuss personal topics at the dinner table.

💭 Lastly, consider talking to a professional. Infertility can affect mental health, and you don’t have to go through this alone.

3️⃣ 92% of donor insemination patients were white.
4️⃣ Over half of s***m used in treatment from donors of Mixed, Other and Black backgrounds was imported from abroad.

For many couples struggling to conceive, using donor eggs during IVF can be an excellent option for starting or growing a family. Many considering donor eggs might wonder, but won't my child look different to me?

Health and physical traits aren’t just influenced by genes. Behaviour and environment play a part, too. Enter the emerging field of epigenetics. Even if you're using donor eggs for IVF treatment, your baby may still have some of your traits. This is because factors like your stress levels, diet, and behaviour can affect how your baby's genes are expressed. So, your child may have more of you than you think! Pregnancy, birth and raising children is no easy task, and can come with a rollercoaster of emotional challenges.

If you are creating your family with the help of donor eggs or s***m, you might have added worries about whether not sharing genetics can affect your ability to bond with your child, as well as wondering ‘do I have to tell my child they are donor conceived?’

Whether there is a genetic connection between you and your baby or not, it is important to remember that donor-conceived children are born into their families and grow up as a part of them.

The environment and how children are raised by their parents have a much bigger impact on their development than just inherited genes.

It's not only women who give birth 🏳️‍⚧️🙌 For transgender awareness week, we're highlighting the trailblazing trans dads who show that fertility isn't about gender.

It's important to note that while trans family issues are gaining recognition, there is still a way to go. In the UK, trans men who give birth are registered as ‘mother’ on the birth certificate, even if their legal gender is recognised as male.

Taking hormone therapy can suppress fertility over time. Trans and non-binary folks who might want to conceive in the future have a number of treatment options available, including s***m or egg freezing.

During an egg freezing cycle, a trans man or non-binary person takes fertility drugs to stimulate their ovaries into producing multiple eggs. The eggs are then collected and frozen, and can be used for future IVF or egg donation.

At Apricity we believe that everyone has the right to have a child. We are committed to providing inclusive healthcare experience, with and we offer at-home diagnostics from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Making miracles happen 💜

Intracytoplasmic s***m injection, or ICSI, is a treatment used in the case of male infertility where s***m is injected directly into the egg. It can also be a great option for LGBTQ+ couples. We offer virtual doctor consultations to determine if this is the right pathway for you and your partner, and unlike other clinics, there's no hidden fees. We give you the full cost upfront.

Is egg freezing right for me? 🤔 Egg freezing is a rising trend, and there are many different reasons you might be interested in freezing your eggs.

Did you know that the number of people choosing to freeze their eggs rose by a staggering 64% between 2019 to 2021?

There are many reasons you might want to consider freezing your eggs.

Maybe you don't feel ready to have a baby yet, haven't found the right partner or just have other plans in your life right now.

Going through a medical gender transition can cause a permanent loss of fertility. If you are assigned female at birth, freezing your eggs before you transition gives you the option to start a family in the future. Undergoing medical treatment such as chemotherapy can also harm fertility and freezing your eggs first might be recommended before you start treatment.

Whatever the reason, freezing your eggs can give you a better chance of having a baby when the time does feel right.

Tune in at 7pm UK time on Tuesday 14th November to hear from our experts and special guest speaker from

We hear you. It's a hard thing to accept. But thanks to modern science, know that it is possible to diagnose and treat many underlying causes of infertility. Consulting a fertility specialist can be a great first step.

In a basic fertility assessment, we tend to look at:
🥚Ovarian reserve, a blood test which measures anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), a value that indicates the quantity of eggs you have.
🩸Thyroid profile, a blood test which assesses thyroid function. 🏥Ultrasound scan, to check your ovaries, womb and fallopian tubes. These values help us to advise on next steps. All of our fertility assessments include a consultation with a fertility specialist to explain your results.
