Come be extravagant with me darling! HatsOff BootsOn:
Boots:
I make vintage-inspired hats and boots, incorporating the use of some upcycled fabrics and embellishments. My first experience of shoemaking was in a local workshop in West Yorkshire where I made my first pair of boots, including dying the leather to the exact shade of purple I desired. From the first moment I was hooked on the process o
f shoemaking and wanted to do more. After a period of bespoke shoemaking training, I spent 6 years working with a shoemaking cooperative in the UK, taking and making individual orders for a full range of boots, shoes and sandals to meet the requirements of a diverse range of customers. Additionally, I spent further time working for a bespoke shoemaker in London where I enjoyed taking on a vast array of shoemaking related jobs including inserting zips into long boots, making and adding tassels to the front of shoes, and all manner of skilled leather work. Today, I take shoe-making commissions on a one-to-one basis. Feel free to ask me if you have an idea in mind (timescale on commissions is several months). Hats:
I have always made hats and am now focusing on 1920's-inspired felt cloche hats. I am a natural upcycler and everything I make includes some upcycled materials. This is something I am passionate about. I love sourcing materials and items of clothing, and making them into something new and exciting; the joy of the transformation from something that was - into something that is - constantly inspires me and fills me with energy. Currently based in London SE25 - I run creative workshops giving people the chance to find their own creative inspiration through playing with colours and fabrics. We each have a well of inspiration within us - my passion is to give you the chance to explore your own creativity in a safe and fun environment.
