☁️Haar, haar! Want to know a funny thing about our weather?
Lossiemouth, like many other eastern coastal towns at this time of year, can seem to have a split personality!
One half of the town will be glorious, warm sunshine and blue skies.
The other, lower and closer to the coast, will be misty, cool and damp.
This is the haar. A low sea fog that rolls in off the sea as the cooler air from the water meets the warmer land.
It's fascinating to watch, the difference is stark and it can change right in front of your eyes.
It's usually burns away by late morning to reveal a beautiful day! 💙
♦️ Nine of diamonds.
Did you see the amazing Typhoon flypast yesterday?
Nine aircraft in close formation came in low over the town, crossing both beaches, the golf course and the base. What an incredible sight!
They're practising for the coronation.

After two weeks of being restricted to lead walks, Ernie the cockerpoo was ecstatic to finally be off the lead and feel the wind in his fur!
Being let loose on a Lossie Beach can have this effect on people, too.

🩵 A rainbow appears, the waves roll in and the sun slides up over the hills.
🩵 The sun is rising at its most southerly point now, but day by day will slowly slink its way round to the north, over the hills, until midsummer when it seems to burst up from the sea!

📮 You'll find all the basics - a post office with cash point, chemists, Co-op, a butchers, a bakers, and a sports trophy maker!
There's also a garage for fuel, logs, propane and servicing. Loads of takeaways, including a chippy and a cafe, and a vets.
💅 There are several hair and beauty salons, too.
But did you know, there's also lots of specialist independent retailers? Here are just a few...
♻️ @therestoremoray is Moray's only Zero Waste shop, also sells fresh veg, local eggs and ethical household products.
🦞 There's a deli who'll do you an amazing seafood platter with fresh lobster from their own boat!
🐠 If you prefer your fish alive, the aquarists, D and I Tropicals have the largest display of fish in the North.

Early morning. Lossiemouth West Beach. Not a soul around! 💙
West Beach has it's own special charm.
Best time to visit is low tide, when the sea reveals wide, flat sands leading you to Covesea Lighthouse at the far end.
The sunsets from West Beach can be incredible, and it’s the best place to watch the Northern Lights.
There’s a free car park with a café that has toilets inside. There’s also a beach wheelchair, free to use.
In front of the car park is a small bay, protected by a natural reef and wartime sea defences.
This area is popular with paddleboarders and sea swimmers and home to the Moray Firth Watersports Club.
