Visit Lossiemouth

Visit Lossiemouth Why Visit Lossiemouth? 💙Welcome to our Visit Lossiemouth page! Thanks to funding from VisitScotland, the Visit Lossiemouth project is well underway.
(1)

The dry, sunny climate, two vast sweeping beaches, rugged coastline abundant with wildlife, majestic lighthouse, spectacular views of the Northern Lights... But more than that, Lossie gets under your skin and into your soul. 💙 In 2021, the Lossiemouth Business Association with support from Visit Moray Speyside formed a Tourism Sub-Group, to focus on developing tourism in Lossiemouth and improving

the visitor experience. This includes:
- Defining our brand (understanding what Lossiemouth means to people)
- Developing a logo and other visual branding
- Commissioning new videos and photos
- Enhancing the website www.lossiemouth.org to help visitors get the info they need quickly and easily
- Setting up new Facebook and Instagram accounts - www.instagram.com/visitlossiemouth
- Running paid social media ads
- Hosting travel writers and influencers
- Generally raising the profile of Lossiemouth as a great place to visit, live and work! We know that summers in Lossie can be busy, but we have so much to offer year-round, thanks to our mild climate and fantastic natural assets. Everyone that knows Lossie just loves it here! It's time to share the secret! If we can extend the season and attract visitors in the off-peak too, it brings more money to the town and supports the local economy directly and indirectly. Through this page, the Instagram account, the website and other channels, we'll reach new people, and provide visitors with the inspiration and information they need to get the most out of a visit at any time of year. Please follow our accounts and share the page and the posts with your friends and family.

💙 Volunteers wanted!
If you love Lossie and you want to share that with others, you're just who we need! Please help!

The Visitor Information Centre on Pitgaveny St, overlooking Station Park, is a great new facility, staffed by lovely volunteers, keen to share their love of Lossie with visitors.

But in order to keep it open, we need more volunteers.

Can you help? All it takes is 3 hours of your time, at a time to suit you. It can be a one-off or a regular commitment.

Please complete this form if yo.u can help - https://forms.gle/tjewUkPEJz5Wza9b7 - or email [email protected]

🙋‍♀️ You'll meet and greet visitors (and locals, too) at the new office near Station Park
🙋‍♂️ You'll help answer their questions and point them to what they're looking for.
🙋‍ Three-hour shifts to suit, you choose your times. One-off or a regular slot.
🙋‍♂️ No experience necessary, all training and information will be provided

All our volunteers say it's such a fun experience, meeting people and helping them make the most out of their visit, promoting our town and its heritage and sharing our stories.

Please share and help keep this facility going! Thank you!

The Visitor Information Centre is a new initiative from the Lossiemouth Community Development Trust and the Lossiemouth Business Association.

Today! Eyes to the skies between 12 and 2.30pm for flying displays.

Best place to watch the displays is West Beach. Low tide at 11.36, so plenty of space for everyone, but parking will be difficult so if you are able-bodied, please park in a nearby residential street and walk down to the beach.

The field at Hythehill School also offers a good view of the airbase.

Be aware of road closures though - most of the perimeter road will be closed from 12 - 3.30pm and there is no waiting along the coast road.

LOSSIE FEST AIR DISPLAYS ✈

Our Friends and Families Day on 13 July will see limited air displays over the Station from 1200.

🔱 P-8A Poseidon
🌀 Typhoon FGR.4
⚡ F-35B Lightning II

A number of visiting aircraft will also be part of the static display.

If you're travelling to view the displays then please park in Lossiemouth, eat locally, and walk to public land north of the airfield.

As always, air displays are subject to weather and operational commitments.
