It's been a while but the blogs have restarted on our website- the first is about the joy of hosting artists at Agricola House during the Wirksworth arts festival trail - the amazing space inside Agricola in the sitting room, kitchen and social areas is perfect with its high apex ceiling, lots of natural light and quirky interiors - it's been lovely to meet the artists too over the years of hosting

Agricola House is a host venue for artists right at the heart of a major annual arts festival in the small town of Wirksworth in Derbyshire

Sir Richard is able to offer a similar guided tour of his very stately house and with lots of very entertaining stories to tell if approached by a group -Agricola is a short drive away

Mark and I had the pleasure of visiting White Peak distillery through about 10 days ago- a big recommendation for a trip out either for a tour, tasting or just to the shop whilst staying at Agricola house- it’s about 10 minutes drive away. Gin and rum as well as the whisky are distilled on site

During our transitional period from one owner to another, we the Hopton Team are looking forward to welcoming you to the annual Snowdrop Walk. We will be open from 1st February to 28th February inclusive, outside light refreshments will be available.
Please check the Hopton Hall website, www.hoptonhall.co.uk/garden, before visiting for up to date opening times.
There are occasions the grounds have to be closed due to local extreme weather, heavy rain, high winds and snow. Please check as we would hate for you to waste your journey.
