Alison and Alan will welcome you to a delightful cosy cottage nestled next to a brook. Ideal for those that 'want to get away from it all!' Enjoy the idyllic surroundings, chickens range free on the 16 acres and you may even get to bottle feed one of the lambs. Ideal location for walkers and after a long day walking enjoy the fare at the local pubs, or take advantage of the local produce and meat
that the owners sell in their shop (organic meat, eggs, preserves and cakes). Mary Tavy: village (shop, church, pub) on the western edge of Dartmoor’s high moor, 3 miles north of Tavistock. Two miles away is Brentor’s landmark church on a peak; 4 miles to Tavy Cleave, one of Dartmoor’s most spectacular places. South Devon and Cornwall coast villages/beaches, about 25 miles. Homer Farm is located in the beautiful valley below the church in Mary Tavy, Dartmoor and right next to a brook, a neat, comfortable cottage converted from a barn that offers ideal accommodation for two people. Cobbled sitting-out area (table/chairs) next to the stream with views to the owners’ vegetable garden and Mary Tavy church beyond - a perfect setting for sharing a bottle of wine. Chickens and geese range free on the owners’ 10 acres of land which you are welcome to explore (small farm shop selling home-produced organic meat, eggs and preserves and cakes to order). Door to neat living/dining room (TV/DVD). Compact kitchen (microwave) with door to double bedroom, off which en suite shower-room (suite). Fridge-freezer, tumble drier and plenty of space for soggy boots/coats in separate drying room. No children. A sweet cottage in a beautifully serene spot, excellent for walkers, cyclists and canoeists. Being on one level Homer is suitable for people with limited mobility, however the pathway to the property is slate and can be uneven and slippery when wet. Once in the property all rooms are on the same level and the bathroom has a shower not a bath. The owners are most accommodating and will make your stay as comfortable as possible.
