What a fabulous day it was yesterday for the annual Thompson Run. A huge thank you and congratulations to the organising team for their hard work to prepare for the day. Thank you also to all the helpers and of course to the runners who took part. I made it too. My marshaling point just in time for the first two runners to come speeding past me. The Thompson Run Fair will be held again in September with both 10k and 5k runs available. This year we are also giving people the opportunity to walk th 5k section of the run after all runners have set off, great for dog walkers, children and anyone who likes a gentle walk.

The weekly coffe morning at Thompson Community Hall has been cancelled on Tuesday 2nd July. Back to normal for the following week.

If you haven’t been to ou coffee morning events and enjoy a good natter over delicious cakes, cheese scones and coffee,why not come and join us on Tuesdays from 10am.

The second new addition on the Millennium Green is a bug hotel, created with thanks to Kevin Blake and the children and parents who came to help on Saturday. Our hotel also needs a name so any suggestions welcomed.

It’s been a great first day of the Thompson Art Craft and Flower event. We are open again tomorrow morning from 10am to 4pm, please come and see the wonderful displays in the Church, fabulous art at the Community Hall where you will also find an exhibition commemorating the D-Day 80th anniversary and enjoy some tasty refreshments.

On Saturday at 11am and 2pm we are making a bug hotel on the Millennium Green. In the Community Hall we will be making rainbow bottle sun catchers during the day. In the Church, during the afternoon, the choir will be singing.

The Thompson Art Craft and Flower weekend will see the village host a variety of activities throughout the weekend of 15th and 16th June 2024. At the community hall we will have and art exhibition, D-Day exhibition and refreshments all day, the Church will host the flower exhibition. Details of other specific events to be announced shortly. Please come along and support. Entry to events is free.
