The love of skating, Bryan’s story
My parents brought me my very first pair of skates (above) in the 70’s ... I will always remember my very first moves on the carpet in my parents front room. Ever since then I have been better on my skates than in my trainers! Instead of feet - in my case it certainly is “wheels” on the ground.
From carpet to outside - I could be found skating the streets of London with friends. Learning jumps and tricks, along with quite a few falls my confidence grew.
When I was 12 I was asked to become a Marshall at a Roller Disco in West London, from here my love for skating grew even more. It was here I started to learn to skate-jam, control speed and pick up new techniques.
I have met some of my closest friends through skating, it is a world, (especially now when your phones and computer games get put to one side) enjoyment of life and freedom takes over. I still find that now after a stressful day, to unwind I will be at the park or beach on my wheels - in the fresh air with music in my ears.
