Busy time in town this month. February isn't many people's first choice when deciding to visit (the weather might have something to do with that!). But with lower airfares and a host of events happening ( , Dublin Chinese New Year Festival, Pigs On Parade to name a few) it's a great time to explore our city...

Happy fourth night of Chanukah from Dublin! As you might imagine, it's a holiday that doesn't get much play around here, so imagine our surprise and excitement upon discovering latkes in the Fair City.

We had been meaning to visit Camerino, the adorable new bakery on Capel Street. When owner Caryna (of Caryna's Cakes) let us know that potato pancakes were being made for Chanukah, we hotfooted it over.

Of course spuds in various forms abound on menus here in Ireland's capital, but it appears this is the ONLY place to get these (served with apple, of course)!

You can find fresh challah at Camerino too, plus lunchtime sandwiches, sweet treats, Roasted Brown coffee and Clement & Pekoe tea. We'll be back...soon.

You're probably aware there's no Thanksgiving in Ireland, but did you know we DO have Black Friday? Yes, consumerism is alive and well in Dublin with lots of sales on today. We hope everyone enjoyed a relaxing Thanksgiving wherever and however they celebrated...now, let the madness begin!

Someone told us it's all happening at the Zoo. Dublin Zoo welcomed many little bundles of joy over the summer months - here you can see the elephant babies cuddled up with the herd at bedtime. Scenes of a recent visit to the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland. Just north of the city centre in Glasnevin, it's right beside Glasnevin Museum (you can actually stroll directly through from one to the other). Each separately is well worth a visit, but we recommend setting aside a long afternoon to see both...

Lovely piece in The New York Times about escaping the madding Grafton Street crowds. Congratulations to Industry, Jenny Vander, The Printmakers Gallery, Stokes Books and BarryDoyle DesignJewellers on being featured (worth noting that the last two are actually inside Georges Street Arcade).

Drury Street is just blocks from the city’s main shopping avenue, but the comparatively smaller strip has less congestion and a more authentic feel.

Meet the newest member of the team. Previously of Shauna's Pet Shop, Chilli has a bouncy personality, though she can be a little dozy during the daytime.

We didn't know exactly what kind of pet we wanted when we visited so Shauna herself helped us, she was happy to talk through which critter might be right for us. Recommended!
