I am Eric Eberman the founder of this page and our group by the same name I have lived on and off in San Cristobal since 1987 and welcome everyone reading to San Cristobal.
I am a sculptor photographer explorer fine woodworker and activist for human rights and the environment.
My photography has been exhibited widely in Chiapas with exhibitions in la Casa de la Enseñanza, Parque San Jose where the zoo is, the Botanic Garden Orquidarium in Comitan, La Casa de los Cortes in Comitan, Cafe Colibrí in Palenque, the Museum of the Altos in el Ex Convento de Santo Domingo here in San Cristobal, en compARTE with the EZLN and the state Congress in Tuxtla Gutierrez.
My sculpture work is in progress a massive earthwork inspired by the ancient Maya, las Pozitas de Xilitla by Esward James in Xilitla San Luis Potosi and Roden Crater in Arizona by my teacher James Turrel. This work is ongoing and it can only be seen by invitation.
I am also the founder of the only Hummingbird Reserve in Mexico, Reserva de Colibri-Tz'unun, here in San Cristobal where we protect 8 types of endemic and migratory hummingbirds and dozens of other species of flora and fauna at risk of extinction.
