Meeting the well intervention professionals at ICoTA 🌟
FourPhase supports Coiled Tubing cleanout operations with sand management handling globally. At the 14th ICoTA Scandinavian Well Intervention Conference in Stavanger, concluding today, we have the opportunity to connect with the Coiled Tubing specialists to discuss how sand management can be integrated with CT. Olof Nilsson or Even Solsvik are available on stand to provide sand management insights for any CT operation, or vizualize options through the FourPhase 3D simulator tool.
Size matters - and smaller is better 😉
For the jungle of different installations out there, size is important. And when it comes to decision time, compact, powerful and efficient is almost always better than bigger. FourPhase equipment is designed with a modular approach, and sized to fit through the standard well hatch with a footprint of 2 x 2 metres (6.6 x 6.6ft).
Our equipment is often chosen for its compact size, ease of installation and lower weight to fit limited crane capacity. The video shows how FourPhase modules can be stacked like lego, maximising valuable deck space and easily slotting in among other equipment.

In oil and gas extraction, production separators on installations separate the three phases oil, gas and water for further treatment. Sand and other solids in the well flow are sedimented in the separator as the other three phases move downstream. 🧩
At FourPhase, we focus on sand as the fourth phase of oil and gas production, hence our company name. There is no doubt that sand is a production integrity challenge, affecting about half of the wells in sandstone reservoirs globally, according to operators. Our answer to that challenge is providing state of the art cyclones to remove the fourth phase, eliminating downstream sand from separators and other equipment adversely affected by sand in the produced phases. All without impeding production rates.

AOG Australia wrapped up last week, attended by our Australasia Business Development Manager, Andy Hogan. FourPhase was one of the sponsors of the Swan River Cruise arranged by the Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP), a popular and well-attended event highlight. Andy was able to give a presentation on board, connected with a number of service providers and operators, and had productive conversations that will continue post-event. Proppants play a crucial role in hydraulic fracturing in oil and gas production. Their job is to seep into the tiniest fractures and cracks opened by high-pressure hydraulic operations. Typically, most of the proppants stay in the reservoir, but left unmanaged; they can end up in our ecosystem. Efficient separation of proppants from fluid has previously been a challenge. FourPhase separation systems have proven to be highly efficient for managing proppants in several operations.

The Caspian Basin has proven reserves of 15.3 billion barrels of oil or 2.7% of the world's reserves. With many oil wells completed in unconsolidated sandstone, unwanted solids production is a known regional challenge. The increased focus on energy security has led to Operators investing in increased hydrocarbon production from existing offshore assets. Last week FourPhase mobilised an additional DualFlow desander system for immediate deployment on a shut-in offshore well. Our Americas BD team, with Caleb Roquemore and Aksel Skåland, will be at the conference. They will share how the FourPhase separation system can improve HSE and operational efficiency during coiled tubing operations. Bringing our experience from the North Sea with multiple CT operations every year, we will continue to enable faster CT operations across the Americas region.
Already Limited POB for unexpected solids management operations can be challenging. Remote operations are becoming increasingly important to solve. FourPhase sand management systems are designed for remote operation. All our current systems are remotely operated offshore; in theory, the distance to the unit does not matter, and they can be operated from any location with an internet connection.
