The Tsum Valley Trek is a lesser-known attraction located in the Gorkha district of Nepal, nestled amidst the stunning backdrop of the Boudha Himal and Himal Chuli to the west, Ganesh Himal to the south, and Sringi Himal to the north. The region ranges in elevation from 1905m in Lhokpa to over 5093m at Ngala Dhojhyang pass along the Tibetan border. Previously restricted, access to the Tsum Valley was opened in 2007. Inhabitants of the area, known as Tsumpa, possess a distinct culture, traditions, and dialect closely linked to the Tibetan language. The valley is home to several significant monasteries including Dhephyudonma Gompa, Rachen Gompa, and Mu Gompa.
