Sherpa Royal was born in shades of the enormous Everest, the vision of a Sherpa to share their passion for the mountains, nature and beautiful people of the gorgeous Himalayas to the world. on and working towards his goal, Sherpa Royal Trek now stands as the foremost company in Nepal to offer specialized travel and exploration services to more friends with its specific deliberate brands. However the growth and progress has resulted in wider audiences, the story of Sherpa is still about family, a family of highly skilled individuals aiming to share their dream across boundaries. Our Story
Our story begins with a man’s passion – a desire for the extreme mountains in the world: the Himalaya. As guide and adventurer, Karma Sherpa spent many years exploring the Himalaya’s magical valleys and ancient ways, setting the standards for trekking and mountaineering these splendid peaks and valleys. The Sherpa people have traditionally been known as ‘the guardians of the Himalaya’
As Sherpa, we know and love this region and it is in this role that Karma desired to share this knowledge and love with others. Karma saw a need for a locally owned and operated trekking company that would bring international standards to Nepal's trekking sector and further decided to form a company that would offer everyone the opportunity to determine and appreciate the splendor and challenge of these awe inspiring mountains.

Losar is celebrated for 15 days, with the main celebrations on the first three days. On the first day of Losar, a beverage called changkol is made from chhaang (a Tibetan cousin of beer). The second day of Losar is known as King's Losar (gyalpo losar). Losar is traditionally preceded by the five day practice of Vajrakilaya. Because the Uyghurs adopted the Chinese calendar, and the Mongols and Tibetans adopted the Uyghur calendar,[3] Losar occurs near or on the same day as the Chinese New Year and the Mongolian New Year, but the traditions of Losar are unique to Tibet, and predate both Indian and Chinese influences. Originally, ancient celebrations of Losar occurred solely on the winter solstice, and was only moved to coincide with the Chinese and Mongolian New Year by a leader of the Gelug school of Buddhism.[4]

Losar is also celebrated by Yolmo, Sherpa, Tamang, Gurung, Bhutia, Monpa, Sherdukpen and certain other Himalayan people although different regions of the Himalayan countries have their own respective new year celebrations as well. Losar is also celebrated by Tibetan Buddhists worldwide. Yolmo Losar is observed on the same day as of the Chinese New Year.

You need some coins to drop in the water, perhaps it should bring you some luck after ;) . It is a very green area (which is rare in Kathmandu already) with lots of trees and monkey on them. Some great views, some pictures, nice time spending..

Everest Trek is the second most popular trekking area in Nepal. It would probably be the most popular destination, but it is more expensive and difficult to get to Solukhmbu than to the Annapurna. To get Everest, you must either walk for a week or Fly to Lukla, a remote mountain airstrip where flights are notoriously unreliable. Solukhumbu justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world‘s highest mountain (8848m), but also for its Sherpa villages and monasteries. The nominal goal of an Everest trek is the Everest Base Camp at an elevation of about 5340m. You cannot see Everest from the base camp, so most trekking groups only climb Kalapatthar, where a dramatic view of Everest is accessible.

While trek to less ambitions destination such and Namche Bazaar, the administrative head –quarters of the Khumbu region, Khumjung or Thame, which are more typical Sherpa villages or Tengboche monastery, from Tengboche you will vive an excellent view of Everest and its more spectacular neighbour Ama Dablam (6856m)
And involves a tremendous amount of up-down walking. A glance at the map will show the reason why. All the rivers in this part of Nepal flow south from Himalayan glaciers,

This is one of the most memorable trek with Chris and Michele.
