Phewa Lake is located in the Pokhara Valley. Walking along the lakeside is refreshing. A great experience is a boat trip to the small island with the Tal Barahi temple. You can also let the boat drop you to the other side of the lake, and walk up to the World Peace Pagoda. This is also the start of the diverse, 4-day long Panchase trek.

One of the ‘not to miss highlights’ of Kathmandu is the gigantic Buddhist stupa of Boudha. It is the heart of the biggest Tibetan Buddhist community in Kathmandu. There are a few monasteries around the stupa, and lots more in the small, surrounding streets.

Some small practical games, like the human knot to learn our trekking guides to develop essential skills like creativity, solution oriented thinking, listening to each other, taking the lead and most of all working as a team. Basantapur Durbar Square is a must visit when exploring Kathmandu! Temples, statues and the house of the living Goddess, the Kumari. We saw her, received her blessings but taking pictures was not allowed 😉.

📸 The Bisket Jatra chariot in Bhaktapur. New Years celebrations in Nepal means big festival time in Bhaktapur. Days before, they start preparing a wooden chariot which will be pulled through the streets on different days of the Bisket Jatra festival! This festival last 9 days!

Near Pokhara, there are several Buddhist monasteries, where young boys stay to become a monk. Often there are Tibetan refugee settlements nearby. Great to learn more about the life of the monks and Buddhism.

Our Story

'When in Nepal, do as the Nepalese do,' is true if you really want to experience Nepal inside out. Although this is quite a challenge if you don`t know anything about Nepal or the Nepalese culture. We can help you with this. We are a Nepalese - Belgian couple that lives in Kathmandu with our 2 teenager boys and our little daughter. Together we created our travel agency Nepal Inside Out Treks & Tours. This way we want to share our passion for Nepal and for traveling.

Chuda has more than 20 years of trekking experience in the Nepalese Himalayas. Maaike worked for several years in tourism and customer care and has an eager to go to new places and discover hidden gems.

We like to provide a personal service and like to get to know you. Already from the beginning we want to know how you prefer to travel, what you want to see and do and if you have special interests. With this information we make you a customized tour or trek which will be an unforgettable experience.

And we like you to get to know us. For sure you will meet at least one of us in person at the beginning of your tour or trek. During your entire stay you can get in touch with us at every moment of the day, and we regularly check in with you (WhatsApp) to make sure you are totally fine. Every aspect of our travels is responsible: we are proud to be Travelife Certified since the beginning of 2018.
