Follow our journey. In today’s vlog, we will take you on a 10-hour road trip from Kathmandu towards Pokhara by car. Pokhara is only 200 km from Kathmandu but...

What’s fun about Kathmandu is the amazing food diversity the city has to offer. Kathmandu is an incredible foodie destination.

We spent two full days hunting for the best street food in central Kathmandu, NEPAL. This time, we’ve covered Asan, Basantapur (and Kathmandu Durbar Square) and New Road.

There are hundreds of dishes and food items there. And it can be quite overwhelming and difficult to enjoy the Kathmandu food scene if you don’t know what you’re looking for and most importantly, where to look.

Here are the 20 street foods you absolutely must try in Kathmandu.

Among other South-East Asian cuisines, Nepali food stands out for its distinct cultural influences from various ethnic groups, and one of its richest and tastiest cuisine is undoubtedly the Newari cuisine.

Bhaktapur is a Newari city famous for its history, beauty and craftsmanship. Honestly, it is a MINDBLOWING city!
BUT ... what most travelers don’t know is that Bhaktapur is also an amazing destination for food lovers!

In Bhaktapur, avoid the rooftops selling continental food for the tourists and get ready to experience the traditional local food! The real deals are tucked away in small alleys, far from the tourist traps.

Last week, we went to the ‘Choila Specialist’ in Bhaktapur to taste their amazing spicy buff choila.

Choila is a grilled meat (buffalo, mutton, chicken, or pork) that is known for its spiciness. The meat is blackened and crunchy on the outside and pink and tender inside. Then, the meat is marinated in a combination of spices. Often served with Chhyang (a local alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice), this mouth-watering specialty is most of the time eaten as a snack. And ‘Choila Specialist’ is one of the best places to try Choila in Bhaktapur.

This was a unique immersive Newari food experience! 🇳🇵

It might be a little surprising but our Extreme Nepali food experience in Kirtipur turned out to be one of the most delicious!

One of the best restaurants (if not the best!) I’ve been in Nepal is Newa Lahana. The atmosphere is traditional and authentic, the people charming and the food so unique and delicious. In this video, we also had the chance to go "behind the scenes" and see how the chefs prepare the Newari cuisine.

Wondering where to get the best views over Kathmandu city?

Here's one pretty good spot that no travel guidebooks mention!

Single Tree Hill is a teeny tiny hill that offers a splendid panoramic view of Kathmandu spread out below you and the rolling green hills of Nagarjun on the backdrop.

We've just spent a whole month hunting for the best food in Boudha.
