Dear members,

Due to the COVID-19 Corona-virus pandemic, our office is closed from today until further notice. However, you can still reach us under [email protected] and our emergency phone line: 021 748484

We will still be here to answer all your questions and help you out as much as we can in the current situation.

Life in New Zealand has been changing rapidly in the last week. New Zealand is currently at alert Level 3, but will move to COVID-19 Alert Level 4 at 11.59 pm on Wednesday 25 March. For detailed information about the situation, please have a look at the government website: https://covid19.govt.nz/

Once we have reached level 4, you must stay at home and stop all interactions with others outside of your household – unless you are working in the essential services. You may go for a walk or exercise and enjoy nature, but keep a 2 metre distance from people at all times. Food will always be available and supermarkets remain open. Remember, you are asked that you only spend time with those who you are in self-isolation with, and keep your distance from all others at all times. https://covid19.govt.nz/government-actions/covid-19-alert-level/

Please note that there will be restrictions travelling through New Zealand:
https://covid19.govt.nz/government-actions/travel-restrictions/
Right now, public transport and domestic air travel is restricted only for medical reasons, to get to the supermarket, to those involved in essential services and freight. Air travel is permitted for travellers to leave the country. Ferry services, road and rail will still be available for the transport of essential goods.
Driving in private vehicles is allowed, but everyone is asked to limit their movement around the country. We want to emphasize that finding safe accommodation should be your priority. At this stage, jobs will be very limited in New Zealand and industries are unsure if they belong to the essential service.

We recommend to our members to return back to their home country, as this has been a recommendation from governments and ministries of foreign affairs all over the world. As airports have been affected as well and closures have been happening, we ask our members to get in contact with their embassies.

Our German members have been advised to register for a flight back home under:
www.rueckholprogramm.de
Moreover, German members should also register under:
https://elefand.diplo.de/

We advise our members from other countries to get in touch with their embassies – a small selection of their phone numbers below:
British Embassy: (0) 4 924 2888.
French Embassy: (04) 384 2555
Belgium Embassy: (04) 974 9080 or Mobile: 027 279 9363
Austrian Consulate: (09) 476 0994 or Mobile: 021 858 818

Please stay safe and healthy!

Hi lovely members😃,

Next week will be Antoine’s last week in New Zealand! He will be going back to France.

During his time here, the best thing he did was snorkeling. Encountering New Zealand’s marine life was surely something to remember. He even encountered fish that were half his size!

We will surely miss him in the office!!!

Enjoy your weekend,🤩

Hi dear members,

Currently, we have some strict border measurements in place here in New Zealand.

The symptoms of COVID-19 are cough, fever, and shortness of breath.

Hi beautiful members😄,

Our member Antonia is enjoying this!

Look at this stunning view of Antonia’s favorite lake!

In New Zealand, you can find a lot of the most special coloured lakes! The reason for the colours can be quite strange, because of various reasons.

The most common reason is the concentrated amount of minerals in the water. This makes the lake turn into all colours of the rainbow. The other one is, because of glacial water. This makes the lakes turn into a beautiful baby blue colour.

Make sure to see one before you leave New Zealand!👀

Hi hard workers,

It was taken in the Bay of Plenty. The Bay of Plenty is known for the beautiful lush and green environment.

It is a great place to experience the true Kiwi culture, because a lot of Kiwis live in here. Get a real taste of farm life in New Zealand.

The bay of plenty has a lot of work offers at this very moment! Swing by the office for our best job offers, or send us a quick email on [email protected]

Hi lovely members😃,

Look at our member Yasmina! She is completely in her adventurous element while walking across the bridge in Mt Cook.

Most people know Mt Cook for being the highest mountain in New Zealand, but did you know that it’s also a National Park?

Yasmina hiked down the Ho**er Valley track! It is one of the most popular tracks in the Mount Cook National Park.

It is suitable for all levels! The track is 10km and it is mainly flat. One of the best short walks you can find in this National Park! It is just absolutely stunning!

Hi athletic members,

Look at the amazing picture our staff member Sanne send us!

She took the picture while on a hike near the Oakley Creek Waterfall.😀

Oakley Creek, in the Auckland suburb Waterview, and its surrounding parks offer a beautiful hike on hardened paths. Follow the stream all the way up from Phyllis Street, passing Oakley Creek Waterfall, up the Oakley Creek Walkway to the Waterview Reserve.

Spend a day relaxing and hiking through some of Auckland’s most beautiful parks. It’s a great hike for starters, and a must see for the advanced!

Hello members!

Our staff members always go the extra mile to find the best jobs and best activities for our members!

Have you met Antoine and Sanne yet? Not surprised to see them jump in front of the fire truck when our building had to evacuate because of the fire alarm. Of course, they triple-checked that they were not interrupting anybody in their work. 😉

A little bit about them:
Antoine is from France (Brittany to be precise!), goes swimming in the ocean when it is snowing (no wet-suit of course) and his favourite place in NZ is Wai-o-Tapu.
Sanne is from the Netherlands, can’t wait to explore NZ, is already excited for our next pub crawl and reuses her teabags (it is sustainable!).

Come by the office to have a chat with us and we will help you with travelling and finding work!

Hi animal lovers,

Look at this cute seal! It was captured by our member Timon on one of his adventures.

Timon escaped the summer heat and went to the South Island, down to Kaikoura.

There is a lot of wildlife to spot in New Zealand, on both the North and the South Island. The summer is especially good for penguin spotting!

At the office we have multiple types of tours available with discount, plus we help you planning your trips!

Send a quick message to [email protected] and we can help you planning your wildlife adventures!

Happy spotting,

Hi members,

With summer coming to an end, some orchards and vineyards also produce less fruit. Some others have really struggled with our dry summer and no rain. This means that they could not offer any work at all lately.

But luckily, you know us and we are constantly in contact with orchard owners and employers who are seeking workers. Interested!

Come by the office for more info or contact us under:

Hi discoverers,

Take a look at the amazing picture that our staff member Charlotte sent us! Charlotte travelled around the South Island with Stray.

Here you can see the breathtaking Mount Cook in the background.

While you are in the area, try to visit the Mount Cook National Park. There are plenty of things to do there! For example: enjoy a scenic helicopter ride, hike to the Mueller Hut, go stargazing and take the Famous Mount Cook Road Photo.

Mount Cook National Park is located on the South Island and can be easily reached by bus.

Come by the office for extra information or for discounts for your travels.

Happy discovering 😀,

Plus, you have any trips booked with stray, please stay in the know with stray’s updates on their changes and cancellations:

Please remember to call the emergency number 111 if you are in direct danger.

Come by the office to find out if your trip has been affected by the weather. If so, we will assist you with the change in travel plans.

Happy travelling and stay safe!

Hi movie lovers,

Who said it’s a shame to watch a movie when its such great weather? Here in Auckland you can watch free movies in parks from January until April! 😊

Movies start once the sun has gone down, but the fun begins earlier with plenty of pre-movie entertainment to enjoy while you relax in the park. Make sure you take a blanket, some pillows and a snack.
Check out http://moviesinparks.co.nz/films/ for when & where what movie plays.

Hi Member,

Look at this stunning picture our great member Antonia send us.

There are so many awesome things you can do in Queenstown. Too many to mention, that’s why we made our personal top 5 of things you can do in Queenstown.

1. Jump off somewhere crazy with AJ Hackett
AJ Hackett was the first person to bring bungy jumping to the world. Get out of your comfort zone and do the original bungy jump in Queenstown! Not in the mood to jump? They also have an amazing ledge swing!!!
2. Go on a scenic helicopter flight over Milford Sound
Milford sound is one of the most beautiful natural wonders we have ever seen. Experiencing it from a different point of view is a memory you will never forget.
3. Visit the Moke Lake
One of the most beautiful places in Queenstown. The perfect place to relax or go hiking.
4. Eat at Fergburger
There are more then enough places to eat in Queenstown, but one that you can’t miss is Fergburger. Fergburger is known for its huge and tasteful burgers! Make sure you go there outside of peak hours otherwise you could be waiting a looonnnggg time for your burger. 😉
5. Shotover Jet Boat Ride
Another activity that is super iconic for Queenstown. Jet Boats are fast and agile vessels that are able to drive at super speeds and spinning 360 degrees.

What is your favorite thing to do in Queenstown??

Happy exploring,
