For those who are travelling soon. This is what my colleague who is going to Europe yesterday. Please allow lots of time

Right... I am now at the departure gate at AKL to fly to Europe. A few observations so far. Even using the Premium check in line (flying premium economy) it took 45 mins to get to the front of the (very short) queue. I would suggest minimum 3 hour check in, 4 for economy. The check in process is very slow as they check vaccine pass, covid test and then go through checking the requirements for transit and final destination. The most common issue seems to be pax who have the NZ covid certificate, not the international one. While I was at the counter, two of the other counters were turning pax away to go online and try to get the correct covid vax cert.
There is basically nothing open in the international terminal before security. Security line is very slow.
Once you get through there is still bugger-all open. No food outlets. Just Duty Free. The only Travelex counter open is just after security. None down by the gates.
