Pharmapac production is based on responsible, efficient energy use, and we carry out modernisation work to increase our energy efficiencies whenever possible.
We operate with an energy-efficient lighting plan throughout our plant/warehouse.
We use a state-of-the-art closed-loop water system to promote water usage efficiencies and eliminate water evaporation.
We also have rainwater collection tanks that collects and stores rainwater from our production facility roof.

The primary advantage of the CPP-ISBM polypropylene bottles is that of moisture barrier protection which is up to 8 times more superior than alternatives like PET, with a similar wall thickness. This makes it ideal for exporting to countries with high humidity and hot temperatures. The CPP-ISBM bottles have clarity and sheen approaching that of PET bottles making it very unique. This is achieved via biaxial orientation of the polypropylene material. A process which is difficult to manufacture and produce. The talented team at Pharmapac were the first to bring this unique technique to New Zealand.

New Innovations and Designs

At Pharmapac we’re committed to continuous improvements, so were always looking for new innovations and developing designs in order to be more sustainable and to provide greater value for customers
One of the ways we're doing this is by broadening our range of PET products available. After much demand, we have expanded the range to include a smaller 60gm pot, as well as the newest sizes - the 250gm, 400gm and 500gm PET pots.

At Pharmapac, we are incredibly proud of our achievements in the area of zero net waste manufacturing.

Since 2017 we’ve been working hard to divert manufacturing waste from landfill because we are committed to making a difference not only to the brands, we work with but to the planet as well.
We have invested heavily in this area and are partners with various third-party recycling companies. We are proudly over 90% of the way towards achieving our goal of zero net waste manufacturing.

Pharmapac was first founded by Lance Hopwood in 1979. From humble beginnings, this business has always had an employee-centric focus. We began with just 3 employees in a small warehouse in Glenfield producing pegs. Fast forward nearly 45 years later and Pharmapac has grown to over 60 staff and is now designing, manufacturing, and producing plastic packaging solutions for not only local but an ever-growing list of international clients.
