Christchurch Catholic church moves forward with recovery plans.

The Catholic church in Christchurch has today welcomed permission to carefully deconstruct its earthquake-ravaged cathedral and try and save the historic building's nave.

Such a shame to see this coming to an end. If you're yet to experience these amazing food trucks I'd suggest wearing loose clothing, the food is DELICIOUS!!

Happy Monday People!! A Quick heads up on some road works starting today:

Storm-water works begin on Fitz/Moorhouse intersection until March 20th, could cause delays with Falsgrave St being closed. Detour via Ferry Rd for those needing to turn right onto Fitz.

Waltham bridge is down to one lane both sides for the next 10days. There will be delays during peak hours as Barbadoes lanes are reduced before the bridge to assist with merging, would suggest Durham St as an alternative route.

Ever wanted to watch a Police Station be blown up? Christchurch Police Station will be imploded on Saturday April 18th.

EDIT: UPDATE:

Well this has caused a bit of a stink!
Several people associated with this project have now come forward to us and told us in confidence that the date is April 18th.
HOWEVER - Ngai Tahu contacted us and asked where we got the date, Ngai Tahu are the lead in the project as the owner of the building - they would neither confirm or deny the date but assured us it will be coming down Mid April!
IT GETS BETTER - The PR joker from Momentus Public Relations Ltd acting for Ceres, the demo crew, is being quite bullying towards me and telling us it will be coming down in the first quarter of 2015! well that means it will be in the next 3 weeks!!! So even less time to wait for the boom time! - great!

What a joke! Lets see what happens. Maybe lets put bets on when it will come down....

Green-fingered Cantabrians can start watering their gardens every day from tomorrow.

The Christchurch City Council today announced level 3 water restrictions would tomorrow be reduced to level 2, meaning residents could water outdoors at any time, using hand-held hoses or watering cans.

Sprinklers and irrigation systems are still prohibited. Fantastic news!
