Plenty of healthy rainbows in the Whirinaki system this season.

Good to see the trout starting to chase bait around the shallows on Lake Tarawera as the lake warms up.

A good number of fish were landed on small softbaits casting at rising fish.

Saw this guy cruising the edge of the flat this morning.
An absolutely amazing eat off the sand on a small gotcha fly with 20lb tippet. The Primal mega 8wt has some backbone!

Thats a wrap for the 2023/24 season for most of the local fisheries around Rotorua and Eastern Region.

We had some great browns to the net from the local Rotorua streams over the last few weeks to close off the season.
