The Ugandan breakfast you miss when not living in Uganda.

Cassava Fries (Muwogo) and Chai Mukalu (a steaming bouquets of tea and other spices).

For the uninitiated, did you know that the Muwogo, starchy root vegetable or tuber we enjoy for breakfast, lunch and at other culinary functions was first introduced to Uganda through Tanzania by Arab Traders between 1862 and 1875?

Travel Tip: The wild remains the wild.
Recently, news that an elephant charged at a Saudi tourist and trampled him to death in Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's largest national park, after he got out of the car, was not good to hear. May fellow Mulambuzi's soul R.I.P. We all love the sight of these huge animals whenever we go to the wild. Many times they appear calm minding their business, but it is always better to keep your distance because wild animals remain wild animals. Elephants can charge at you if;

1-It is a herd/mother with a calf. Back off and don't get close to the herd/calf.
2-A bull is on heat known in elephant parlance as Musth. Keep your distance please because they tend to be aggressive.
Elephants will always charge at you when they feel threatened or are not in any mood to entertain you. So, Mulambuzi, please respect the wild and your Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger's instructions while in the wild.

Did you know the most romantic animal in Uganda's wild?

Well, ahead of Valentine's Day (February 14), as most of you lovebirds hit Uganda's wildness to show affection, make out and propose Heaven on earth to each other, go ahead. You are allowed! It is your right. But also look out for some romance going on up in the nests in Uganda's wilderness. The Red-Headed Lovebird is our winner, one of the 1061 bird species found in Uganda. True to its name, these small parrot species, are much affectionate and born to love each other. They love to sit beside each other and get to cuddle all the time. They start their romance from when they are babies (2 months) and remain together till death does them apart.
