First off, I want to tell you why I call my page, “Beta-Mom”. In the "techy-world" Beta is referred to a development phase where the product is being tested and refined before it is essentially finished. I believe I am constantly looking to be refined and I will evermore be in the phase of "development"- the Beta Phase as there is always room for gaining knowledge and growing. I am a “new” mom and
loving every minute of it...that doesn't mean times are always easy. TIME...your best friend, or your enemy. Ah if I had a dime for every time I said, “if I just had more time”. But you know what I have realized? That what we choose to do in the 24 hours in a day reflects what is important to us. Just like our checkbook records. As I sit and reflect on how I spend my 24 hours- (with a new mom’s perspective), time feels more precious. What should I do? Thoughts come to mind of Capturing memories, making my house a home, and investing love into my family. But what do I do? Yes to some of the above, however it’s never always that pretty- lets add on tons of busyness to the schedule, cleaning around the clock and in between my job, working out- or at least trying to- (hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?), let’s not forget grocery shopping, cooking, quiet time with God, church, and of course family. I promise there is a point to all of this. As I think about what “life” means to me, I think about a lot of things – from my faith, to my family, and to my health. What does life look like to you? What do you want it to mean to you?
….for me? I want to live my life to the fullest. I want to achieve the dreams God has planned for me. I want to be able to inspire and help others with their dreams and their goals. I have always loved being healthy and fit. Helping others in that way has been a passion of mine for years. I feel that Beachbody and JuicePlus+ allows me, more than ever before- to be able to reach others and help others to achieve their goals. I used to go to the gym all the time. While the gym offers lots of good machines and programs, it never gave great results- for me at least. I always heard the word “Plateau” – followed by a sigh- as if “that’s it, that’s it for me” tone. I hated seeing that. I wanted to reach my goals and I wanted others to reach their goals. Then I was introduced to Insanity. WOW. Can we say GAME CHANGER?! I was hooked from then on out. Each Beachbody workout I did from there only got better. I noticed results that I had never seen. When you get excited you want to tell the world. That’s how I feel. I want to tell the world about how they can get off their “Plateau” mentality and know that there is something beyond that. I have to share with you my experience with Shakeology.- all I have to say about that is – I don’t dread them – I CRAVE them. Anyone who knows me knows I am a BIG eater. It takes a lot to fill me. So, even though I digressed – I have a point to all of this. You know what I was talking about earlier, about how time is important and precious? I want to be able to be home more with my family and doing the Beachbody workouts can allow me to do that. I love that my workouts are home based – not at a gym where I have to drive and figure out a babysitter while I work out at the gym. I love how I can workout at home with privacy. As a mom I can’t run to the gym without a babysitter. I save on gas, and a high monthly membership fee and I save time by not having to leave the comfort of my home. To those who enjoy being around others with a common goal (myself included) I can offer a way to be connected - through social media- accountability groups where we all have common goals: Lifestyle changes, becoming healthier, becoming more fit- spiritually and physically, and last but not least – I think one of the most important ingredients-
ACCOUNTABILITY. It’s these groups that help us be accountable towards each other. That is a huge attributer to us meeting our goals. Sure it’s the workouts but you helping me, I’m helping you – and before you know it we are reaching our goals. I do believe that exercising and eating clean –including eating fruits, veggies, and berries must be incorporated in your life in order for you to live a healthy lifestyle, however I do not believe that there is a perfect “formula” that can be used across the board for everyone when it comes to exercise. That’s also why I like what Beachbody has to offer…a multitude of low intensity and high intensity work outs so that you can work out according to your body type and where you are at in your journey. You see, we are all in that Beta phase. We are constantly being refined. Bugs continue to get worked out, trial and error, experiencing victory and failure along the way of our road to a healthy lifestyle. But as I have heard before, we can either choose to fall behind, or we can choose to fall forward.
