That’s a big girl!!!! WEIGHING IN AT 217lbs.!!!!! This gal was foul hooked this morning. She had two rods and lots fishing line and even a portion of a tire trailing behind her. We cannot be thankful enough for our staff and a few local anglers for stepping up to rescue this big gal! Our staff had to go swimming with the Gulfarium stranding team to get her in! But we got her loaded up and taken next door to receive care from the Gulfarium CARE Center staff. She is on the road to recovery!!!

It’s nesting season……. WHAT CAN YOU DO?!?!

Leave NO TRACE!!! Fill holes and take your trash with you!!!

Reel up!!!

Accidentally hook turtle? DO NOT CUT THE LINE! On the pier, let our staff know immediately and call FWC!! Work slowly towards the beach until the stranding team arrives. Follow our staffs instructions! Clear the rail and give them room to work.

The future generations of this species needs our help.

If you come across nesting sea turtle or a turtle making it’s way to shore, admire from afar and LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!!! The future generations of sea turtles are way more important than your snap and Instagram stories!!!

If you see someone harassing a turtle or roped off nest CALL FWC IMMEDIATELY!

Every species of Sea turtle we see is ENDANGERED!

Our staff works hand in hand with the Gulfarium and is trained by them and FWC on how to rescue these creatures and get them to the help they need!

It’s just another day at the office for us! But we are proud to do our part.

Quick trip down to the condo to check on things. The June grass is hit or miss this time of year. It can be horrible one day and gone the next. It can be horrible one condo down but clear where you are. We found clear water in the front of the condo the whole time we were there. The gulf water was a pleasant 86 degrees. Yellow flags.

We ate at Burrito del Sol and got Smoothie bowls at Sunset Bowls in downtown Fort Walton Beach and can highly recommend both places!

Two reminders:
1. Reminder to sign out of your accounts on the TV’s when you leave. We signed out of some open Netflix accounts, etc.
2. Locked owners closets are where owners keep their personal possessions. Unfortunately, someone broke into ours, ruined the door in order to get in, and took many of the things we had in there. I know most people would never do that. Just a friendly reminder that nothing you find in the condo should go home with you, with the exception of books. Feel free to take a book you are reading and leave one you have finished. Everything else you find in the condo should stay for the enjoyment of others after you!

If you need things like beach towels, boogie boards, sand toys, sunscreen, etc there is Target, Walmart, Publix and more that are short drives plus many also do online ordering and delivery (check out Instacart).

Yes, this condo is directly on the beach with no obstructions to your view. Here is a photo I took on entering the condo. New flooring and bathroom renovations happening right now. Remember, this is the Islander Beach Resort on Okaloosa Island. Do not confuse it with The Island down the road or The Islander in Destin. Beach front condos went fast the last 2 years. Now booking through Brooks and Shorey for spring and summer 2022.

The condo has received a fresh coat of paint and looks great. The end of this month will bring big changes with complete renovation of both bathrooms and new floor tile throughout!

The condo has had some upgrades lately. #3002 has new mattresses, headboards, lighting fixtures, kitchen and living room furniture and art work. The building itself has a new paint color (coastal blue), new trash rooms, and refreshed landscaping.

During your stay, you will most likely have the privilege of hearing and seeing military aircraft from nearby Eglin Air Force Base.

Lightning night operations.

Residents may experience aircraft noise April 26 - 30, when the 58th Fighter Squadron conducts night flying operations in the area.

Each day, F-35 fighter aircraft will conduct missions between 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. Night flying is a requirement for 58th FS training operations.

We’ve gotten some check in and reviews from people who are not staying in our condo. I can tell that the descriptions and pictures are not the Islander Beach Resort on Santa Rosa BLVD in Fort Walton Beach. There is a condo complex called the Islander 10 min away in Destin that could be the confusion. One review was bad and listed all things that are clearly not our condo. Please double check that you are staying in the right place before adding a review. For those of you looking at our condo, please be aware that I cannot remove reviews. I will try to comment on concerning ones that clearly aren’t the right condo.

Check out the pier on your visit. I’ve seen turtles and stingrays from above. Close encounters with herons and pelicans waiting for a bite of bait. Great views of the coastline. It’s a mile walk on the beach from the Islander. I’ve walked there and driven there. Restaurants and shopping also nearby the pier.

We have new property management starting April 10th. This means we have availability right now and expect to completely fill soon.
