The Rocky Mountains, commonly known as the Rockies, are a major mountain range in western North America. The Rocky Mountains stretch more than 3,000 miles (4,800 km) from the northernmost part of British Columbia, in western Canada, to New Mexico, in the southwestern United States. Within the North American Cordillera, the Rockies are somewhat distinct from the Pacific Coast Ranges and the Cascade

Range and Sierra Nevada which all lie further to the west. Las Montañas Rocosas, o Rocallosas (Rocky Mountains o Rockies en inglés) es un sistema de cordilleras montañosas situado en el sector occidental de Norteamérica y que corre paralelo a la costa occidental, desde la Columbia Británica en el noroeste, pasando por la frontera entre Alberta y la Columbia Británica y llegando hasta el suroeste de Estados Unidos, en Nuevo México. El pico más alto es el monte Elbert en Colorado, con 4401 m.

A stop in Banff.
On our roadtrip from Calgary to Vancouver and Vancouver Island we had a few days in Banff. Well actually we stayed in Canmore. We did go and visit Banff. The view intonthe Rocky Mountains is very impressive.
