And now this...AC outage till late July due to entire building's roof replacement. We've drastically reduced our rates to $299/nt. So go take a dip in the pool or ocean, and enjoy a luxury resort at almost half the price!

"Please come, Maui depends on tourism, by coming, you will be supporting us." Words from a Maui resident. Locals with tourism-related jobs are hurting... Go to Maui, stay away from Lahaina town, but the rest of West Maui is opening up. Many Kaanapali, Napili and Kapalua restaurants are taking reservations beginning Sept. 10. Smaller eateries are already open. Tip generously, volunteer where needed. Pray. Donate to local causes. But visit soon.

There's many comments like these on Tripadvisor for the Mahana at Kaanapali, but you'll also read about Mahana guests who were unhappy with their rental condo after booking with a large management firm, that only lets you choose a category of unit like A, B, or C.

Sadly, we are saying Aloha and goodbye to Wailua Bay View #214. Nine years ago Jim and I were beyond excited to become owners of this condo, truly a dream come true. But we've recently sold it, and we're purchasing #717 at the Mahana at Kaanapali, on Maui. It's a larger and more luxurious oceanfront unit, and we can't wait! To all our lovely prior guests, and to the many friends we've made on Kauai, we send our best wishes, a hui hou, and Mele Kalikimaka! 🎄💖🤙

Travel to Kauai is beginning April 5 with just one negative pre-test, so bookmark this article to help you choose a beach to visit. Kauai's beaches have very seasonal conditions, so check local surf reports for safety. North shore beaches generally aren't calm enough for swimming in winter months, but protected Anini Beach had some amazing snorkeling during one of our recent winter visits. It was like all the baby fishes had gone over there to hide from currents at nearby Ke'e Beach. And what's better than a summer afternoon on Hanalei Bay...views for miles, gentle lapping surf, shade for sitting reading a book...ah can't wait to go back!
