We are a small company that has the experience and knowledge to take on some of the most difficult structural problems that have ever been seen. We don’t just show up and do the work; we take part in finding solutions to the most complex problems. When engineers can’t find a solution, they call us for one.

Where to start with this project!!! Well the roof was previously lifted by a contractor that specializes in roof lifting. It went from 20 foot to 40 foot. The facility had some financial miss fortunes and was taken over by a bank. The bank hired an outside engineering firm to evaluate what was being done. That engineering firm discovered many engineering errors. It was determined the roof needed to be returned back to the 20 foot level. Which is where we enter. We quickly knew that we were going to need more help to get it down in a timely manner. We were very grateful that our good friends at Anderson House Movers and Goldsmidt House Movers answered the call and were both eager to lend a helping hand. These are just a few of the relationships that we have made being apart of the International Association of Structural Movers and the International Association of House Movers as well as the Texas Association of Structural Movers.
This project presented many unique challenges and thankfully Jahns Structural Jacking Systems was basically on call to assist us. It wasn’t just help with labor we needed, we had to reach out the DeVooght House Movers for a larger unified machine. Stubs House Movers for more hydraulic hoses and it s always great when Larry Stubbs himself shows up at your job site.

Heavy shoring job. This structure is be shored to allow for the repair/replacement of the concrete create columns. The lower level our shoring had to span across grade beams. Here we used our TR80 shoring system. On the floor above we used wood cribbing, our custom Jack bolsters and 100 ton locking nut jacks. Typically wood cribbing is not the best in this situation but we would have needed 3 foot TR80 legs and those have not been made that short yet.

On Friday Jepsen Structural was on this site. At the direction of the structural engineer we performed some emergency structural shoring. Everyone involved did exactly what they should have done.
The city building officials, the fire department, public works, the building management and engineers, all did a great job.
As our building and infrastructure are aging, this situation will happen again and we hope the outcome is the same as this one.
We will and have always responded to emergency situations and we will continue to be one of the industry leaders.
If you do have media inquiries about this building, please contact the building owner or management company.

Last week we were called to a roof that was starting to fail because of the snow load on it. Thankfully it never fully collapsed. This triggered a full evaluation of the faculties roof structures and some areas of concern were able to be addressed before they became a problem.

Column shoring job.
The footing needed to be lowered 12 feet to allow for two new flight simulators. Actual load on this column is 349,884 pounds. (In a 24”X24” area)
We used 4 locking ring hydraulic jacks with custom tops and bases. (from Jahns Stricture Jacking Systems)
Those were connected to a special electric hydraulic power pack also customized by Jahns Structure Jacking Systems.
We used our TR80 shoring system (we manufacture in house)
Our custom Jack bolster beams and our 27 inch doubled main beams. All of our steel is supplied by South St Paul Steel.

We recently completed a facade retention project at the Historic Fort Snelling Upper Post, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. The fort was use from the frontier days on through World War Two. This building along with several others were in the process of being renovated and turned into housing for homeless vets. The building tragically caught fire during the renovations.
With our equipment now in place it is safe for the other trades to come in and work. The plan is still the same for the building, it will just have and entire new interior and roof structure now.

Jacking up columns in this building. The old original wood pilings were rotten and causing the the 8 floors above to sink. We used our TR80 shoring system with 55 ton locking ring jacks in the sub basement. At the sub basement level we used our TR80s again and our Whitney Column Clamps.
We Jacked up 6 columns, one roughly 8 inches. Each column had 92 to 128 tons on it.
