Crime stories amidst of the Everglades National Park
Dozens of dead bodies have been hidden in the local wetlands…luckily only in the episodes of TV series CSI Miami. Do you remember the opening theme song and the pictures of a special boat in the middle of the water? It was the Everglades National Park and the so-called Airboat, used for transport (not only) for tourists, which usually scuds the local "waters" at a speed of up to 50 miles per hour.
The quotation marks in the word "waters" are in place. The park is formed by the Pahayokee River, which is only 0.5 ft deep! However, it compensates for its depth with the width of its basin, that reaches up to 49 miles in certain places. You can meet alligators, crocodiles, lots of water birds and, of course, mosquitoes here. Therefore, it is necessary to have a repellent with you. Visiting the park is a great experience. Low islands, "plantations" of water lilies and animals in their natural environment. Keep in mind that hunting as well as harvesting and gathering of anything, including wood is strictly prohibited.
