This is a really neat little peak at Naples history. A Port Royal address will now cost you 22-25 Million and often times the existing home is torn down and a new mansion replaces it. The sight seeing cruises will all point out the famous residents. If you do ever find yourself excessively blessed there are also a few that rent for $30,000-$50,000 per night. Think too long on that and your Naples Parrot Vacation will feel free.

For today’s , we have a circa 1980-1990, real color postcard of Port Royal. The back of the postcard reads “Port Royal. The southernmost two square miles of Naples, Florida…The foreground shows Gordon Pass- entry to Naples from the Gulf of Mexico… which follows Naples Bay, on the right, into the heart of the city.”

Glen Sample developed Port Royal to have more than 500 home sites, all with access to navigable waterways that were capable of handling 100-foot yachts. The first lots were for sale in 1951 with a price range of $7,500 to $12,000. The first four houses built by Sample sold for $22k to $25k.

There is ONLY ONE community in Naples with an HOA that permits rentals of single family homes for less than 30 Nights. If you rent a home that offers any community amenities at all and you have not been asked to submit an HOA Approval You ARE NOT Legally Permitted to be in that home. I have seen a lot of that this past year and I fully expect we will soon see HOA's begin Foreclosure Proceedings on those owners. They can and will take those homes. You do not want to be mixed up in any of that. We offer this home for shorter stays because we are legally allowed to do so.

Because being Pet Friendly is so often mentioned it seemed important to clarify that while Naples in general is extremely inclusive when it comes to our furry family members our beaches are the exception. They are welcome to join us for most things at most places but dogs are not allowed on Collier County beaches. Dog Beach in Bonita and Keewaydin Island by boat are the two easy options and fortunately they are both fantastic. Photo is a favorite of my Little Miss Stella Belle in her younger years loving life at Dog Beach.
