y edits. A LITTLE ABOUT KIMBERLY
Kimberly started taking gymnastics at the age of 2 and dance at the age of 6. She began teaching dance when she was 18 and has taught at multiple studios since then. She has also choreographed for various dance companies in the Portland metro area. When Kimberly was 24 she earned a spot as a BlazerDancer for the Portland Trailblazers. She was a BlazerDancer for 6 seasons and co-captain the last 2 of those seasons. Throughout her 20s, Kimberly attended Portland Community College and Portland State University to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences. In 2014 she had her spunky baby girl, Jaxin, and has loved being Jaxin’s mama. Now, along with being a mom, Kimberly teaches at a local dance studio, coaches the George Fox University Dance Team, and runs Kimberly Kjersten Music Editing. MUSIC EDITING EXPERIENCE
Kimberly began editing music 14 years ago when she started teaching. At first, her editing was for her own dances that she choreographed for recitals and competitions. Soon after, her fellow instructors began to notice her attention to detail and great end product and began asking her to edit their songs as well. Kimberly has edited for many teachers, dancers, studio owners, coaches, and companies, including the Portland Trailblazers BlazerDancers, the Portland Steel Dance Team, and the Portland State Dance Team. *Dancer’s Ear*
After her years of dancing, teaching, choreographing, and editing music for others and herself, Kimberly has developed an ear for editing songs without interrupting the 8-counts or the flow of the song. This helps to keep the audience’s or judges’ attention on the dancer rather than on a choppy edit.

*Convenience*
Exchanges with clients can be done strictly over e-mail or phone, or can be done in person if in or near the Portland, OR metro area (with limitations).

*Passion*
Kimberly loves editing music! She enjoys the creativity involved and also enjoys helping others in their creative process. Having a well-edited piece of music allows the choreographer’s and performer’s creativity to flow.


*Tailored to You and Your Vision*
Kimberly can lend her professional opinion, but ultimately she will do what she can to make your creative vision come alive.

*Perfectionism*
She will only put out a product that she and the client are 100% happy with. She expects no less than perfection and will do all she can to put out a perfect product.

*Honesty*
Kimberly does have some limitations (listed below), so if she can’t do what you request with a song or edit, she will let you know. Also, the hourly rate charged is based on when she is actively working on the edits. For example, if it takes time to figure out how to use a new feature in the editing program, that time will not be included in the total amount.

*Experience*
Kimberly has been editing music for 14 years and has been in business for over a year.

*Flexibility*
If the edited product is not suitable for the client, Kimberly will do what she can to adjust it. If other issues arise, a solution will be found that the client is happy with. SOME SERVICES PROVIDED
---Fade in, fade out
---Edit out inappropriate words/content
---Cut out or repeat sections to make a song shorter or longer
---Change tempo of whole project or sections of project
---Adjust volume of whole project or sections of project
---Mix multiple songs together
---Add sound effects to beginning or end of song, in between songs, or over the top
of songs
---Convert songs to different file types (e.g. .mp3 → .m4a)
---In some cases, the singer’s voice can be taken out while leaving the music, making it into an instrumental. SOME CURRENT LIMITATIONS
---Some songs can be made into instrumentals, but this doesn't work for every song.
---Occasionally, certain edits will not be possible or will be time consuming due to background singing, noises, or instruments. This issue will be communicated to the client, and other options or adjustments to the price estimate will be explored. MUSIC EDITING PRICES (updated Oct 2016)
One project will generally take less than an hour, unless it involves several complicated edits or multiple songs, in which case it can take 2+ hours. Prices may fluctuate due to unanticipated difficulty of edits, though, and adjustments to the estimate will be discussed and agreed upon prior to continuing.

---In-Person Editing – $45/hr
(Within 10-mile radius of Newberg, OR. Additional fees apply outside this radius.) Expect a 7-14 day turn around. There is a charge for rush orders of 7 or fewer days (subject to availability). Payments can be made via PayPal (with small service fee), Venmo, or PopMoney, or by cash or check. Checks can be mailed to address provided via e-mail.
