The goal of the Susitna Salmon Center is to increase public awareness of freshwater ecosystems and to encourage individual actions that lead to habitat conservation. The center will contain aquarium exhibits of local freshwater fish (Pacific salmon and resident fish species), descriptions of their habitat requirements and digital video presentations. The preservation of salmon and their habitats i

s accomplished through multiple different approaches including research, land management and planning, environmental regulation and enforcement, habitat restoration, and public education. The Susitna Salmon Center will provide information on research results, inform the public about the importance of land use decisions, and provide information linking human actions to the loss of fish habitat. The Center will have a retail store offering prints and cards, books, mosaics, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, clothing, and kitchenware. The theme will be salmon, resident fish, and rivers.
