We often get asked what Season is the best for game viewing in Kruger Park.
Although both winter (Dry season) and Summer (Wet season) has it's pro's and con's when it comes to game viewing and what one might hope to find .

The dry season has these advantages over the wet season

In the dry season, game viewing in Kruger Park is easier for the following reasons:

Animals gather around water sources, increasing the chances of multiple sightings in one place.

Sparse vegetation makes it easier to spot animals in open areas.

Animal tracks are more visible, making tracking and locating wildlife easier.

Predator-prey interactions are more likely, providing thrilling sightings.

The dry season is great for birdwatching with a variety of resident and migratory species.

Overall, the dry season offers excellent opportunities to see a wide range of animals in Kruger Park due to concentrated water sources, improved visibility, easy tracking, predator-prey dynamics, and abundant birdlife.

Once upon a time, in a dense forest in Africa, there lived a group of African tree squirrels. Among them, there was a particular squirrel named Kwame, who was known for his agility and his kind heart.

Kwame was always grateful for everything around him, especially for the lush trees and abundant fruits that surrounded him. He would spend his days playing in the treetops, leaping from branch to branch, and collecting nuts and fruits to store for the winter.

One day, while Kwame was out foraging, he stumbled upon a group of animals that were in great distress. They had been caught in a trap set by hunters and were unable to free themselves. Kwame quickly sprang into action, using his sharp teeth and nimble paws to release the animals from the trap.

The animals were overjoyed and grateful to Kwame, and they decided to throw a grand feast in his honor. They gathered fruits and nuts from all around the forest, and cooked a delicious meal that they shared with Kwame. Kwame was humbled and moved by their generosity, and he vowed to always use his skills to help others in need.

As the years went by, Kwame continued to help animals in need, and his legend spread throughout the forest. Many animals would seek him out for his help, and he would always lend a hand without hesitation. He became known as the great and grateful African tree squirrel, and his name became synonymous with kindness, courage, and gratitude.

Today, the legend of Kwame lives on, and the African tree squirrels continue to be grateful for everything around them, following in Kwame's footsteps and helping others in need whenever they can.

Let us learn from this folklore and remember to be grateful and thankful for all we have,we can learn so much about nature and the stories nature inspires.

Getting eye level with the animal is an excellent way to improve your wildlife photography. When you photograph an animal from its eye level, it creates a more intimate and engaging image that draws the viewer into the scene. Here are a few tips for getting eye level with wildlife:

Use a low angle: The easiest way to get eye level with an animal is to lower your own angle. Get as low as possible, even if it means lying on the ground.

Choose the right location: Look for areas where the animal is at an elevated position, such as a hill or a tree, and position yourself accordingly to get closer to the animal's eye level.

Use a tripod or monopod: Using a tripod or monopod can help stabilize your camera and reduce camera shake, which is especially important when shooting at low angles.

Be patient and wait for the right moment: Wildlife photography requires patience, and getting eye level with an animal is no exception. Observe the animal's behavior and movements to anticipate the right moment to capture your shot.

Overall, getting eye level with wildlife is an effective way to create more impactful images that capture the beauty and essence of the animal

Once upon a time, there was a group of helmeted guineafowl who lived in a lush African savannah. They were known for their distinctive appearance, with their blue-gray feathers and the characteristic casque on top of their heads.

One day, a young guineafowl named Kofi decided to venture out on his own and explore the savannah. He strutted confidently through the tall grasses, marveling at the sights and sounds around him.

As he wandered further from the safety of his flock, Kofi suddenly heard a loud rustling in the bushes nearby. He froze in terror, his heart pounding in his chest.

But instead of running away, Kofi remembered the advice his elders had given him about staying safe in the wild. He quickly tucked his head down and crouched low to the ground, hoping to blend in with the surrounding vegetation.

To his surprise, the rustling sound turned out to be just a harmless little rodent scurrying past. Kofi breathed a sigh of relief and continued his exploration, feeling proud of his bravery and quick thinking.

As he made his way back to his flock, Kofi couldn't wait to share his exciting adventure with his fellow guineafowl. And from that day on, he knew that he could handle anything that the savannah might throw his way, as long as he remembered to stay vigilant and keep his wits about him
