Opportunities and Challenges of the African Free Trade Area
The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is a free trade area encompassing most of Africa. The AfCFTA is one of the flagship projects of Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want. It is a high ambition trade agreement, with a comprehensive scope that includes critical areas of Africa’s economy, such as digital trade and investment protection, amongst other areas. By eliminating barriers to trade in Africa, the objective of the AfCFTA is to significantly boost intra-Africa trade, particularly trade in value-added production and trade across all sectors of Africa’s economy.
This session will the importance of the AfCFTA for economic growth in Africa.

Design Thinking
Design thinking is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test. Involving five phases—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test—it is most useful to tackle problems that are ill-defined or unknown.
Join us as Yao Amevi Sossou takes us through Design Thinking.

THE AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT QUESTION: THE ROLE OF WOMEN
The development of Africa remains a big concern two decades after the final wave of independence. Between 1960 and 2000, many initiatives were brought forward in a bid to develop the continent, unfortunately, most times, they were not inclusive – in the sense that women were not given the adequate opportunity to contribute to the development of Africa. There is no need to highlight the reasons women were not given the adequate opportunity but it is now crystal clear that the development of Africa is impossible without the adequate involvement of women.
Travel for Change Adventures is inviting you to a mid-year webinar where three of our invited resourceful speakers from Nigeria and Kenya will be speaking on this topic: The African Development Question: The Role of Women.
•Moderator: Ibitoye Olukosi (Nigeria)
•Speakers: Titilayo Oluwayemisi Jaiyesimi (Nigeria), Mirriam Nafula (Kenya) & Awan Ayang Dominic (Nigeria)
•Date: Friday, July 22, 2022
•Time: 1PM (WAT)/ 2pm (SAT)/ 3PM (EAT)
E-certificates will be provided to participants who engage during the webinar.
